Wow, what an amazing sight to come upon while driving in downtown St. Louis. It's size is overwhelming and beautiful. Once you can take your eyes off the Arch you go down a ramp to be met by security. You are instructed to remove jackets, sweaters, belts, change out of pockets, phones and bags to be placed in plastic bins on a conveyor belt going through an x-ray machine as you walk through security. You walk into a reception area that has you looking up to see what time the tram is leaving for your adventure into the Arch, or time for the next movie. There is a wonderful museum on site (free) that should not be missed. It reminded us of when we were in school and learning American History, so informative and interesting. I can't tell you about the tram to the top of the Arch, was unable to walk up stairs (bad knees), but I can say by the reaction of those who did go it was incredible. There are two stores one for souvenirs and the other for snacks. This is one sight that should not be missed when in St. Louis. Looking forward to going back.
