The Arch itself is a masterpiece but don't expect a great view from the top. Windows are very small and if you are there on a busy day photos are hard to take due to all the people crowded around. The ride to the top in the very small cubicles was rather exciting..felt a bit like an enclosed roller coaster. But you know you must experience this at least once..just to say you did!

It was over 100 degrees and humid the day we visited, but it was worth the sweat! The arch is awesome and so are the other activities in the area, such as the riverboat and bicycling. I highly recommend the movie that shows how the arch was built. It was an amazing feat.

A really attractive structure in a great location. Didn't have time to go up to the top, unfortunately. We had a short wait at about midday on a weekday, although it turned out there was no line at the entrance on the other side, so it would be worth checking our both entrances before standing in the blazing heat waiting to get in! The museum was a little confusing and the exhibits were not well-marked so it was not easy to work out what I was looking at and why it was there.

It dominates the skyline, so no one has the excuse of not knowing where it is. That said, it can be tricky to get there on foot as you have to cross a very busy highway (thankfully there are traffic lights).
The historical film reminds one of the films one saw if you went to grammar school in the 1970s. But it is a marvel of technology and architecture.
NOTE: If you decide to go up to the top of the arch, the transit pods are TINY. Anyone over 5 foot 8 will end up in a crouching position inside the pod. The fewer items you are carrying the better. And the pods creak and clatter on their way up, so be warned. That said, the view is spectacular

They have airport type security to get in, and the lines are long, but it is worth the wait. There is movie to watch before you go up inside and the pods you ride in are tiny, but it is really fun. The view from above is amazing, and the story of how it was built is even more so!
