Description: Il Lazzarone is a traditional Neapolitan style pizzeria specializing in simplicity and beauty. Our dough is made with only four ingredients; yeast, flour, water, and salt. Once the dough has been mixed it is left to naturally leaven and then shaped by hand. The dough at il Lazzarone is some of the rarest and most traditional in the world where very few pizzaiolis still carry on the traditions of old. When the dough is ready we top our pizzas with nothing but the freshest and most pure ingredients money can buy. As the pizza is ready to cook we do not veer from the traditional ways, incorporating a fourth generation hand made wood fired oven imported from Naples. Traditional law states a pizza must cook in less than 90 second to produce the signature leapording of the crust, we typically do it in less than 60. At il Lazzarone we are serious about pizza and the traditions that founded what has become nothing but a glimpse of the truth that once existed. We look forward to serving you. "Come to the Table"

Excellent food...great atmosphere...the customer service will be the downfall of this place...not greeted at all when arriving..we sat ourselves..didn't receive the pizza we ordered..was told they had no glasses for water...waited for the check after inquiring two times with the "hostess"...too bad because the food is wonderful.

Wonderful pizza. Great atmosphere in and outside. Patio seating now has lighting, can't wait to use. St Joseph is so fortunate to have this type of establishment which is a far cry from the franchise pizza places.

Once you try it you won't want anything else.

It is hard to believe that St Joseph is fortunate enough to have a restaurant of this quality and style. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere is unique, the outside patio is a treat. Finally a restaurant in town with kale, arugula and goat cheese on the menu. I never thought that would happen Don't expect to leave here sick to your stomach after spending $12 for a large meat lovers pizza. The food is fresh and the selections are exciting. The entire staff is friendly and knowledgable about the food. David took his time to explain the wine and beer selections and to make recommendations, he told us the story behind the name, he couldn't have been more attentive. The owners take time to walk around and visit which is a nice touch. In a big city this restaurant would be the norm. Yes, it is unique for St Joseph however we desperately need more like this! We will be regulars and we hope that more will try it for a change of pace from the ordinary.

Went there tonight to check out this great pizza I've been hearing. Smelled really good as we were approaching the building. We got there and what we saw was odd. A packed restaurant with a closed sign at the door. We thought this was an oversight, so we stepped inside. After waiting a few minutes, a waitress came up and told that this packed restaurant was indeed closed because their POS machine was broken. She said "sorry". No other explanation provided

This is not how you handle that type of situation. When your new restaurant has to close during its posted hours, that means that you were not able to fulfill an obligation to the customer. You do not simply leave a closed sign at the door of a packed restaurant. You station someone at the door to explain what the problem is, approximately when it will be resolved, apologize and then INVITE THE CUSTOMER(S) BACK.

Really hope that the owner begins to take his customer service as seriously as he supposedly takes his pizza.

Hello,
Thank you for providing your feedback from your visit to us. We want to sincerely apologize for your negative experience at il Lazzarone. Also we're very sorry you didn't get a good explanation of the problem we had the night of your visit. Our new POS system became broken and for a few hours we were unable to correctly take payment therefore we were forced to stop taking new customers until we were able to resolve the issues. I'm very sorry our hostess was not at the door when you walked in to give you the explanation you deserved as well as to invite you back . We'd love to try to make it up to you if you could please email us at illazzarone1@gmail.com to further discuss.
Thank you and once again we're very sorry!

Under staffed meant poor service. Staff acted like they had no clue what was going on, the menu or how to get it together. It is still with in their 1st week of opening so hopefully things should improve over time. Food seemed good but didn't come close to what I ordered. Didn't realize until after I cut the pizza & inspected what was under toppings. Didn't say nothing cause it probably would of taken 20 min for the server to come back & another 20 to get the correct food. I would try them again but maybe at least 6 months or more when they have figured out how to smoothly run the restaurant instead of it being mass chaos.
