Katy Trail Bed & Bikefest B&B
Ranked #4 of 5 Rocheport B&B and Inns
Reviewed June 4, 2010

The Katy Trail Bed & Bikefest was the highlight of our trip to Columbia. The low-key atmosphere is just what we needed for a mother/daughter weekend! The owner's were incredible and the rooms felt "homey" and relaxing. We loved getting up in the morning and drinking coffee in the backyard, then hoping on our bikes and hitting the Katy Trail for a ride. This B&B is literally right on the trail and you will not find a better deal in the area.

This is not your typical B&B with an innkeeper on site. It operates as a serve-yourself place, and you're given a key code in advance to let yourself in and out. We stayed one night on a 3-day Katy Trail bike ride, and the location is great -- right along the trail. Our room in the main house was clean and comfortable, and shared a bath with another room on the floor, which was vacant. Our only fellow guests were a father and two sons staying upstairs in a room with it's own bath.

Breakfast is a make-your-own coffee, serve yourself setup, with fruit, cereal, yogurt, orange juice and muffins etc. It provided plenty of options to get started for a day of riding, and we'd stop here again on a trail ride. You also get a key code to a separate garage, where you can secure bikes for the night. It has a couple other units in different buildings, including one converted rail box car, and a "tree house" just down the trail.

The price was comparable to other stops we made on the trip, both of which offered more of a full-service experience, so the price could be a bit lower given that, but it's still a good value in a nice spot on the trail.

We have 5 children and we stayed @ the "Treehouse" We enjoyed this soo very much. So convenient with the self check in. We loved spending time in their park and having a bonfire Friday evening. The home had wonderful games for the children & adults to play together. We had downtime and very good quality family time. Our lives are so hectic with 5 children, it was so nice to be able to interact & see them interact with each other. We will definitely be back. The children loved the place. Breakfast was very convenient with A LOT of choices. This was an extremely clean home with very nice decor, simple, but elegant.

We stayed in the Attic room and it was quiet, cozy and very romantic! The house had a nice antique feel to it and very clean. The Katie Trail was only a few feet from the front door and in an excellent location. The downstairs kitchen was fully stocked with supplies you could pay for if you need them at a reasonable price. They also gave us a continental breakfast you could fix yourself such as cereal, yogurt, fruit, bagels and juice. My fiancée and I didn't know the bike rental place was closed on Wednesday the day we wanted to bike the trail, but the inn keeper found us 2 spare bikes and saved the day! We can't wait to go back.

I stayed at the Katy Trail Bed and Bikefest with a couple of colleagues after a post-Christmas party in Booneville, Missouri. Though snow covered the ground outside, the B&B was comfortable and cozy inside. It was like staying in a little cottage and the next morning, none of us wanted to leave.

The rooms were comfortable and clean and I can speak highly enough about the decor and overall "feel" of the place.

Given the chance, I'd stay there again and I'll be sure to tell anyone I know of going to Rocheport that the Katy Trail B&B is the place to stay.

I actually rented all the facilities available for a large group retreat. It was fantastic. Everything was very quaint and it was a perfect space to get away too and yet feel right at home. I loved the way it was set up and it felt very private with access to all the amenities we needed. We even ran into a problem with weather and had planned to do some outdoor activities, the owner went above and beyond to accomodate our needs and take care of the entire group. Thanks for the awesome time!

My husband and I have visited twice now with our 8 and 11 year old children. We will never stay in another hotel again in that area. The location right off the trail can't be beat and the hospitality shown through a warm and inviting house. Just bring a change of clothes, your bike and good walking shoes and you are set! Throw in your swim suit for the hot tub at the end of a busy day and you have it made! We are excited to check out the Boxcar next.
