Spent the afternoon at winery and stayed at the bed and bikefest. We stayed in carriage house. No complaints was perfect for what we needed. Would like too stay again with kids and stay in the boxcar. Place is for sale though so hope it doesn't close.

I highly recommend the Katy Trail B&B. The property is adorable, roomy, private, and extremely clean & well kept. My husband and I stayed in the Carriage room, so we could have our own private bathroom. It is very roomy and has a cute country cottage look to it. The large property allows for a nice view while sitting out on the deck enjoying our morning coffee. They have a self-serve continental breakfast, which is nice to allow for a private, romantic stay.

The town of Rocheport is adorable and great place to just stroll through and look at houses. There is a cafe right down the street, so if you want a bigger breakfast, you can eat there.

We stayed Mon-Wed, so the town was quiet and peaceful. It was a perfect combination of relaxing and excersizing. The Katy Trail is literally in your back yard, so you don't even have to use your car once you're there.

Our trip was a wonderful experience. We will definately be back, and we'll be staying at the Katy Trail B&B!!

Room Tip: The Carriage House is perfect if you have noisy kids--more privacy & lots of room. The Carriage...

We had a great time staying at the boxcar! Loved the little details that made this place unique. The kids loved the tire swing and the hammocks. And it is super close to the Katy Trail. We walked a few blocks down on the Katy Trail and explored a cool train tunnel and a few blocks the other way, we had an upclose view of the Missouri River. (I would not recommend the loft sleeping areas for small children for safety reasons, but it is super fun for older kids.)

We traveled to Rocheport with another couple for one night in April. We stayed in the Jefferson Suite, while our friends had the Katy View room. These two rooms are right off the kitchen and common area in the main house, and they share a bathroom off the kitchen.

Pros:
-Super clean and comfortable.
-Very friendly owner who stopped by around check-in time to make sure everything was all set for us.
-Great location right on the trail, with storage for bikes (we didn't use it this time, but it was available).
-Huge array of breakfast and drink options: yogurt, bagels, cereal, granola, eggs, fresh strawberries, orange and apple juice. Possibility of dropping some change in the jar for sodas.
-Also on the topic of food, they had frozen pizzas in the freezer and asked for a $5 contribution to the change jar. Having biked the trail before, this is a WONDERFUL and thoughtful touch, because we know what it's like to arrive late into a small town on the trail and have little to no food options.
-Very comfortable common area with couches, board games, and books to browse.
-Awesome outdoor space. Lots of patio furniture, hammocks, and other outdoor seating/lounging options.
-Not specific to this B&B, but we did discover that there is no open container law in Rocheport. We moseyed up to the General Store, which was rocking with live music and a big crowd, bought a bottle of wine which the bartender opened for us, and walked back to the B&B where we enjoyed it comfortably. Great little town!

Cons:
-We were woken up pretty early by other groups leaving to bike the trail. The Jefferson and Katy View are right next to the common area and kitchen, so you can hear anyone who comes in to prepare breakfast first thing in the morning. If you like sleeping in past 6:30, I would suggest one of the other rooms.
-Not that we expected it in Rocheport, but there was no wi-fi. That would be a nice bonus, but not a requirement for us. Just be aware that you won't get to check email or Facebook unless your smartphone has a great network...which could be a pro for a lot of people :)

We will definitely be back to the Katy Trail B&B. We have stayed in the Dormitory up the road, and we found this location to be more comfortable. Great choice for a weekend getaway or a respite from the trail!

Room Tip: The Jefferson and Katy View are right off the common area and kitchen, so you may be woken up by the...

We had stayed previously in the Carriage House, but went back this year to stay in the Boxcar. What a wonderful setting- great location from which to watch the folks traveling the trail. The Boxcar is very cozy- can sit inside on the couch and still see the trail, or draw the curtains for a bit more privacy. Very comfy and clean. They have thought of all the little details so you can just enjoy.

Room Tip: If you want more room to spread out, the Carraige House is ideal. The Boxcar is a bit more limited o...

I was in charge of booking our annual night away to celebrate my mom's birthday (71 this year)! We are all active and like to drink wine so we decided to make a trip to Rocheport to ride the Katy Trail and visit Les Bourgeois. I booked the Katy Trail Bed and Bikefest Boxcar because it was the only room available. My sisters made fun of me, but were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The boxcar has everything you need, it was clean, the beds were comfy and the trail was basically in the front yard! We also liked having one big room so we could all be together (there were 5 of us). Breakfast in the main house was great-there was something for everyone!

We recently stayed in the carriage house for 2 nights and the boxcar (because the carriage house was booked) for 1 night. For biking on the trail it is a great location and compared to other places we looked at, it was one of the cheapest.

The carriage house can sleep 9, but that doesn't seem very practical with one bathroom that had walls open 6 inches from the ceiling. For just the 2 of us, it was a large and spacious room.

The boxcar had its' charm except for the one sink, it was stained and distasteful to use.

The breakfast items available were sorely lacking. There were several sugary cereals with Cheerios being the only healthy option. Some bread to make toast would have been appreciated as well as a better brand of coffee than Folgers.

Room Tip: Don't stay in the carriage house if stairs are a problem. The stairs are poorly designed with a...

Thank you for your honest review. We value all of them! We are in the process of revamping our selection for breakfast, as our distributor has changed some of their items. We will keep your suggestions in mind as we strive to keep your appetite happy!

As for the Boxcar sink, it was original to the Boxcar before we renovated it, and like the floors, we wanted to keep some of the old charm in the new space. State inspectors have passed it as clean and safe, and it only looks visibly well loved. We may re-evaluate our choice in sinks in the future and will consider adding a more modern one.

The Carriage House was built by the previous owner over 13 years ago, and the restroom remains as it was when we took it over. Since then there have been more pressing issues that needed addressed but renovating that bathroom as well as a few others are on our "to do" list. We do try and let our guests know that this room is meant for larger families or groups that know each other well for this very reason.

Again, we value each and every one review, and take to heart any suggestions that we may need to consider changing. Since we do not stay there, it makes it more difficult to see the perspective of our guests. We hope you'll stay with us again!
