“Not so great afterall...”
Reviewed April 11, 2011

Read the reviews on TripAdvisor before booking...have to say I disagree with the positives. I specifically requested a first floor room, but was put in a second floor room--I even questioned the guy at the desk and he said that the when you entered on the second floor you entered on the first floor--nope he gave me a second floor room. So after we moved our luggage in, we had to move it again to the first floor room that I went back in and demanded. After we moved our stuff in, we looked at the pool. The pool although open (mind you it is April) was not indoor but indoor/outdoor (please note this carefully. The pool was freezing and was dirty. The whole reason we stayed here was for the pool--I can't put my kids in water like this! So I went back to the front desk and was greeted with, "what is it now?" by the person at the front desk. I told them I wanted my money back and we left!

Thank you for choosing Drury Hotels! We appreciate hearing from our guest and we sincerely apologize for the inconveniences you encountered during your stay with us. At this location when parking in the back of the building you enter on to the second floor without the hassle of climbing stairs. We apologize for the misunderstanding and have addressed your comments with the front desk team so this can be better explained to future guests. The pool is an indoor/outdoor pool that is heated for guest enjoyment year round. We are very sorry to hear that you and your family were unable to enjoy it during your stay and assure you that regular pool checks are being made to prevent this from happening again. We truly appreciate your business and hope you will give us additional opportunities to serve your lodging needs.

My husband and I attended a funeral near Poplar Bluff. We, along with many other family members stayed here. Our room was the typical Drury Inn. It was well appointed, clean, and comfortable. We checked in late and check in was very quick. The beds are quite comfortable. We had a mini fridge and a microwave in our room which we didn't have the occassion to use. However, it was a nice touch. Our room had a flat screen televison. We also had wired internet which honestly didn't work the majority of time that we were there. The bathroom was very clean and had plenty of towels. The one thing negative about our stay was that although the spray in the shower was wonderful, the hot water left alot to be desired. Even with the hot water turned all the way up and barely turning on the cold water the shower just wasn't hot enough. We also were provided a meeting room for the family to be able to congregate in. This was wonderful extra. The staff was very caring and checked on us often. The breakfast was awesome. Great selection, very clean, and serviced constantly. I will definitely stay at this hotel again if in the area.

My husband and I spent three nights at the Drury Inn in Poplar Bluff. On the second day my husband had a severe gout attack in his right knee. The caring staff at the motel offered to take me to the pharmacy to get prescriptions for my husband, provided a tray so I could carry his evening meal to him in our room, and were all courteous and friendly to us. They really helped to make a difficult time much easier for us.
The room was convenient, clean, and the bed was very comfortable, as well. We have a waterbed at home so a motel bed has to be a really good one to satisfy us.

This hotel was immaculate and the staff is marvelous. The happpy hour spread was excellent, as was the breakfast. Our only complaints were the size of the room, very small for a king room, and the sheets were rough. No frills at this hotel and few amenities in the room. If you want a great deal budget-wise, this is the place to go. It's also pet friendly.

my husband and i just got back from a one night stay at the drury inn, in poplar bluff. from check-in to check out was fabulous. we had a long day hiking around mingo national preserve, and fishing at lake wappapello, both of which are 30 miles or less from poplar bluff. so we were TIRED at check-in, around 5 pm. the desk staff was exceptional--very friendly and professional. they answered our questions, honestly, about where to go for dinner, but then reminded us about the hot food and drinks that would be offered at 530 in the lobby/breakfast area. they have a soda machine in the lobby, as well as a coffee machine, both FREE, and i was able to get a big glass of sweet tea while we were checking in--that helped take a little of our "tiredness" away. we went up to our room (no king beds available for us, it was 2 doubles, but they were large doubles). the room was very large, with a nice big desk, a comfu stuffed chair and table with a lamp next to it--thank you drury inn!, a fridge and microwave nicely hidden in a cabinet, and a flat screen lg tv--super nice!!! the beds were great, and lots of pillows, and the air conditioning worked great. we thought we'd just go down to the lobby and see what they had, not intending to really eat. ohmigosh--they had chicken wings, salad, carrots and celery, egg rolls, and baked potatoes with cheese sauce. ummm...it was REALLY good!! i had a baked potato, salad, and we ate a lot of wings. husband had a white zinfandel to drink, and brandon (the server) mad me one of the BEST screwdrivers i've ever had! if i'm going to have a drink, i like it STRONG, and this definitely was. brandon is great, super-friendly, and his supervisors should let him know what a good job he does with the nightly food buffet. so after all those wings, we didn't even want to go out for dinner, but maybe ice cream later. we were going to hit the exercise room, and then the hot tub and pool, bujt the beds were so comfortable that we fell asleep and didn't get up in time to enjoy those things!! in the morning we came down to a lovely breakfast, and then were on our way back home. we are already talking about "next time" and how much we enjoyed the drury inn--thanks to all y'all who made it a great little getaway for us!!!! kim

Stayed here a few times. Hotel is consistent and quiet. All features are as they are supposed to be. Those that know Drury chain this is exactly as they should be. Location is great for town. Their breakfast and nighttime reception are good for this style hotel. No surprises you can trust this hotel

We arrived at 2:00 a.m. after booking from erate on my sisters IPhone. There was somebody at the desk and he promptly waited on us. We had no problems. The room was very updated and clean. We asked for extra towels and had no problems getting them. They even have a late checkout at 12:00 and if you prepay you don't even have to go to the desk to checkout you just leave your card keys in the room and leave. Also, they have a breakfast buffet that was very good and clean. Wonderful stay.
