“Not as good as we expected”
Reviewed October 4, 2013

After reading other trip advisor reviews, we expected an excellent meal but we were sadly disappointed. My wife (quesadilla) and her mother's (enchilada) food were poor tasting. My carnita was a large serving but was bland compared to others I have had. The chips were stale and the beans just 'mush'. The tortillas were excellent. The one positive note was that the service was good.

“Good Food, Service lacking”
Reviewed September 23, 2013

Have been to this restaurant numerous times. It continues to disappoint in the past 8-10 months. This particular visit, the hostess was at best, present. She was not friendly, did not greet us with a smile and when we asked if we could sit outside on the upstairs deck area, she said there was no such thing. I have sat there before, plus it is quite visable when you park. Food was good & plentiful, but not once did anyone come & ask if everything was ok or if we needed anything else...not even a refill on your margarita's. We had to ask for the check. outside has not been taken care of and inside is showing wear.

“Good Mexican Food”
Reviewed September 10, 2013

After reading the reviews for this restaurant, we decided to eat there when in town. It is a bit hard to find. We were early for lunch so the service was very good and friendly. The servings were plentiful and good. The salsa served with the chips was a bit too runny for my preference but still very tasty. We would eat there again!

“Good food, horrible service”
Reviewed August 12, 2013 via mobile

I always give a place of business a couple of tries before writing a negative review. In this case, Tio's has had several opportunities. The menu is extensive and the food is delicious. Service is where they need to make significant improvement. How they are rated #4 of Poplar Bluff restaurants is beyond me. The wait staff is no where to be found and if you're lucky enough to catch one, you can bet your request will NOT be addressed promptly. With the choices of good Mexican restaurants in this town, you would think they'd step up their game!

“Not plain Mexican”
Reviewed June 9, 2013

We were on the road and looking for a lunch break in Poplar Bluff, MO. The restaurant selection for better food is limited at best. We are picky about Mexican, and often are disappointed - not this time. This is very good, well prepared Mexican, and not the same old faux Tex-Mex most places put out. One of us had Tios Molcajete, a steak and chicken dish with a special sauce that was spectacularly presented sizzling in a hot stone bowl. The Lomo de Puerco was nicely spiced and savory. The restaurant is new, and nicely appointed. It is in a very open area, just off state road PP.
