We've been to 54 Diner years ago a few times, and were never that impressed. It has been open under new ownership since Feb. Our fave breakfast place was overcrowded this morning, so we decided to give 54 Diner a try. We got there and there was only one other couple in the place at 8:30 on Saturday a.m., which gave us pause. However, several more folks came shortly after we arrived. The decor is the same as it always was - 50's style and super cute. The place seemed to be clean, and the service was attentive. Hubby and I ordered eggs, meat, toast and split a 1/2 order of biscuits and gravy, plus coffee (me), and OJ (him). The food was decently good, and the bill was just about $20. The only negative is that their breakfast platters do not include hash browns - it is an additional charge to add hash browns to your eggs. Not a deal breaker, but would be better for them to be included. While not as good as our fave breakfast place at the lake, we would likely return to 54 Diner.
