“Consistently outstanding Prime Rib”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 5, 2010

Have dined here several times in the past few months. The Prime Rib has been excellent on every occasion. The small cut is enormous and has been prepared as requested each time. The martinis and service have been equal to the beef. If you are seeking an evening of above average food in elegant surroundings would highly recommend Michael's Steak Chalet.

“Nice place for a special evening”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2010

We have gone to Michael's for a few years and it is still excellent. We like this location better than the one on Rt. 54 as it is on the water and has a much better view and the prices are a few $ less.

“One of the premier eateries 'On the lake'”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 21, 2009

We own & operate one of the busiest B&B's at the lake, and have referred literally thousands of our guests to Michael's. Overwhelmingly they have returned to the inn thrilled with the food, service and ambiance. That, together with our own personal experience dining there, leads me to highly recommend Michaels Steak Chalet as one of the 'must try' restaurants here at the lake.

“Michael is no business man”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2008

We went to Michael's over the Fourth of July weekend. We had been there before and the food was pretty good. However, we tried to make reservations and were told they don't take them. When we arrived, we were pleased to see an open table outside, but were told we could not have it because someone had just called to reserve it. It took thirty minutes to be seated in an empty restaurant. It then took another thirty to have a waiter take our order. The drinks were VERY slow coming out. We had waited over an hour, from being seated, to have our dinner order taken. It was almost two hours until we were served a salad. When we requested to speak to the manager, they said they didn't know where he was and sent the waiter over. After requesting to speak to him three times (another 30 minutes later) he came out. He was very rude. He told us our salads would be cleared and our dinner would be out shortly before even listening to our complaints. Once he finished talking to a member of our group, he said just to pay our bill and leave. He did not want to deal with us and did not care if we ever came back. My uncle makes the three hour trip there at least twice a year, but will not ever be going back.

“Awful!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 16, 2008

These folks brazenly serve up Denny's-quality meals at 3-star Michelin prices. The salad was made in advance, then plated, wrapped, and refrigerated: a flat, flavorless, soggy mess of tomatoes, "spring mix" greens combined with iceberg and/or romaine lettuce, cheap, canned black olives, and the lowest quality, bottom-of-the-shelf dressing soaking it all. Add to that a dinner roll straight off the Wonder Bread shelf, wild rice made with canned broth, and a charred black, oversized salt lick of a pork chop. And the service was practically non-existent. What a mess!
