This is the last time we will visit this "tea room". The food is normally good, actually we just go because we love their lobster bisque soup. But, never again. The prices are expensive to start, but on occasion, we are willing to pay for the experience of this place as it is usually a treat to go. This time, however, we waited for a half hour for a table, then 20 more minutes for the lobster bisque soup and half a sandwich. The place was packed with women, we didn't really mind the wait, but when the sandwich came we were appalled. The half of veggie sandwich which looked great on the menu came back with a few sprigs of lettuce, a portobello mushroom the size of a dime and a swipe of cream cheese on a bun. It was sent back, only to be brought back by the waitress saying she could not fix it. She did not offer to replace it with something else so we asked her to just take it off the bill and it was sent back again. We ate the soup, which was delicious, and prepared to leave. The bill came and they had not adjusted the bill so I asked to speak to the owner (who is also the hostess). This owner stated that she had looked at the half of sandwich and saw nothing wrong and would not correct the bill. Really? You are charging eight dollars for a few sprigs of lettuce? Yes, she said. We paid the bill, I informed her we would not be back, and all I received was a shrug of her shoulders. Bottom line..we paid $34.00 for 2 cups of soup and a half a sandwich. Greed? Yes, unfortunately, I think so. Disappointing because this is a nice place but I will not be giving this owner any more of my money for an attitude like this. Sorry for the bad review, I rarely give negative reviews, but in this case it is warranted!!

We have not been to this area for years so before going we inquired of several friends familiar with the area where we should dine. On the Rise was the only site that everyone recommended, and recommended highly. With such strong endorsements, the restaurant had a lot to live up. It not only lived up to but exceeded our expectations. So much so that we returned our second and final morning in the area. A very comfortable environment with excellent food and a friendly staff. Perhaps a bit on the pricey side but we certainly got what we paid for. Not the best location if you have a group with a number of children and want to get in and out quickly. For us, however, as a couple wanting a leisurely start to the day, that potential drawback was a benefit!

Stop by this restaurant for breakfast or brunch! The food was awesome. Great environment & fast service. We both had omelets & everything tasted fresh and well made. It's perfect place for a couple or a girls get-away weekend. If you don't have time to stay & eat, you can grab excellent pastries, coffee, etc to go. We left with cheesecake, gooey butter cake & cinnamon rolls.

I had the 3 cheese and herb omelette. It was very good along with some very hearty thick rye toast. Ask for the raspberry melba sauce they use for the Beignets as jam. It was delicious. My husband had the Country Style Basque and very much enjoyed it. The place does get really busy on the weekend so there will be a wait. They do have a coffee bar and Mimosa's for purchase while you wait. The place seems a little uppity. Most people were very dressed up for breakfast. Even the staff seems a little stuck up but the service was great. Food is rather expensive. But if you are looking for a nice place, it is great choice.

They have the best food in the area. The lobster pot pie is awesome and worth the trip. Great place for a ladies brunch or relaxing lunch. They are not open monday or Tuesday. ....
