“Top Notch Service for a Corporate Booking”
Reviewed June 11, 2013

This is in part review and part thank-you not to Bev for her help and hospitality.

I booked the property for a candidate I was bringing to the UK for an interview; I wanted to book somewhere with character that would convince candidate to accept the job if offered based on what she had seen of England and also, I wanted a property that would offer a personalised service if my guest needed help.

I heard that the B&B was a delight to stay in and that Bev was unbelievably helpful with local knowledge and a printer to print out tickets!

Communication throughout the booking process was quick and efficient, and the value for money was great.

I will definitely stay here when I visit Burton - who needs a faceless travel inn when you can have this kind of English village charm and exceptional service to boot!

Dear Laura,
Thank you so much for your thank you "note" and kind review. We are delighted to hear you were so very pleased with the service we offered. We appreciate it is often quite difficult to make such arrangements for colleagues/clients from afar so we always try and offer as much local help and contacts as possible - so things run smoothly and guests feel at home as quick as possible.
We are very lucky to live in such a lovely village as Newborough and we are genuinely pleased that all went well for you.
We naturally would look forward to welcoming you next time you are close to Burton - be it for accommodation or a coffee and a homemade cake :)
Thanks again for taking the time to write a review.
With kind regards, Bev.

I would like to say it's the best b&b I stayed so far. Hospitality was first class.

In short it was top class. Thank you Bev & Family for making my stay such a comfortable one.

There is a food joint opposite the Old bakers cottage with wide variety of food so don't have to travel out to far for food and also delivery is available.

The bath room is spacious and in good working condition for any family to put up there. Breakfast was fantastic and simple.

Overall if I were to go up to St Georges Park again I will sure stay at old bakers cottage.

Me and my boyfriend decided to go for coffee and cake one morning, glad we chose this place as it was divine.
We had two lattes and mars crispy cake which was delicious. We sat outside and it had a lovely homely feel, the owners dog was wondering around and it was very relaxed. We had more drinks, I had tea and my partner had a after eight frappe which he never stopped going on about all day so he was definitely impressed. The owners were lovely and made you feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Worth the short drive from Burton, will definitely be returning!!

Hi Laura

Thank you for your lovely review, we are glad you both enjoyed your visit and liked the menu items you chose, our Mars Bar Crispy cake certainly is a best seller with both adults and children alike. The Frappes are also becoming more popular as we introduce a wider variety of chocolate bars to the Frappe menu. We look forward to welcoming you back again and are delighted you enjoyed your visit to Newborough. With kind regards, Bev.

My friend and I stayed in the twin room after a day put at Alten towers. The room was comfy and clean and the bathroom was huge and really nicely decorated. Don't rely on your mobile though as signal very bad.

Breakfast was lovely and Bev was so nice and could not do enough for us.

There is also a lovely pub accross the road for tea.

Dear Lizzie
Thank you very much for leaving us a lovely review, it's very kind of you - we are glad you enjoyed your stay here and also your food at the Red Lion too. (Unfortunatey many villages have intermittent mobile reception but with signal boost mobiles work well, we also have free wifi which most phones can connect to to make/receive calls, we are also happy for guests to use our landline if their mobile can't get a strong enough signal). We are glad you enjoyed your trip to Alton Towers too (I hear Smiler is now open as well) and it was a pleasure to have you both stay with us. Thanks again for booking by phone and choosing our home for your overnight stay. With kind regards, Bev.

A warm place to stay in, the guys there are friendly, near to FA St. George park (5 minutes by car),
Network for mobile phones is very poor in the hotel, yet free Internet access is quite good. The food is delicious (I was afraid Asa vegetarian; yet the guys were helpful).
I would recommend it to anyone who is coming for any activity at St. George park in comparison to SOMEHOW expensive alternatives.
