Honeymoon in Paradise all the way from Canada! :)

Let's start off by sharing the most memorable aspects of our trip.

The moment the sea plane takes off from Male Int'l Airport you are taken into a world of true adventure and bliss, skimming through the thin white clouds that caress this gentle light blue water nation makes you realize the true wonders in this world are only a vacation away!

You begin to understand why this tiny country in the Indian Ocean is such a fantastic Gloabal Diving Destination, there are hundreds of islands and clusters which make up Atolls, the sunken islands offer a glimpse into somthing that once was and now only exists beneath the surface of the sea.

Our plane lands after circling the beautiful Hilton resort. As we exit the Air Maldives taxi plane we are immediately greeted by a small friendly fellow, the likes of which we rarely see here in Canada. The breeze is fresh and the weather is perfect to say the least. The green lush tropical island awaits...

The Waters edge restaurant is we are debriefed about our stay and what to expect, with a quick pineapple juice we hurry along on the golf cart throught the sand tree-lined paths of this tiny island paradise. As we enter the boardwalk towards out water villa we notice the bright blue water beneath us and the fishes vibrant and abundant all around.

We spent the week in paradise learning their culture through dance and communication. The food was mostly international with not a great emphasis on local cuisine (unfortunately).
Sandra at customer service was a great help and we hope to one day connect with her again.

The spa is one of the best in the world and I dream about it all the time!

Take a tour of the villas they will drive you around and show you the different styles.

We went from Montreal to London to Maldives and lets just say We will be back!!!!

Room Tip: Water Villa see the fishies below your bed!

Tourist bliss

A lovely and must-visit resort for all those folks who want a calm and chilled out experience with their family. I had some apprehension on the food, since me and family are pure-veg, but I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent service given by Sumeet by providing us with wonderful vegetarian varieties for lunch and dinner throughout my stay. It was also very nice to have some good tips on muscle buildup by Jojit. Although the staff approach appears casual, they are very professional and sticklers for time. I guess a slogan of "Happy to have you" - H2HU sounds very apt for the service and courtesy provided by the hotel staff, right from the shops to the snorkelling instructor and buggy drivers - Overall a fantastic luxury destination

Room Tip: Take the deluxe beach villa with the swimming pool attached - Luxurious

We were made to pay extra for no reason

We are a family of 6 and We booked through Booking.com and had known before arriving to the hotel the approximate price that we needed to pay. When we checked out , we were forced to pay $8000 extra !!!!!
they claimed that the price on Booking.com was not correct!!!!
We tried to convince them and refused to pay, they made a big fuss and we were very embarrassed. We had to speak to our lawyer back home.
We are definitely not going back there NEVER.

I am sorry that the unfortunate circumstance of your billing caused you some distress at the end of your holiday with us.

I have personally looked into your case and found that the excess amount you paid was indeed to cover the cost for the round-trip seaplane fare for your family, as well as other incidental costs not included in your package rate. These additional charges were not reflected on your confirmation letter by booking.com. Please allow me to clarify that this website is an on-line travel agency that deals with hotels from all over the world and does not have a booking service for the seaplanes, which is the only mode of transport to our resort. However, it is clearly stated under "Additional Information" that the seaplane reservations will be handled and charged at the hotel level.

Your confirmation letter also reflected only the total cost of your accommodations for your family of six. All other incidental costs during your stay such as food and beverage (outside of your breakfast), island excursions, snorkelling, diving or fishing trips, as well as the seaplane fares are charged separately.

My team and I sincerely regret any misunderstanding and embarrassment that this caused you. We thank you for staying with us.

40-minute seaplane flight from Malé

We had a two hour wait for our flight from Malé to Iru Fushi; the private waiting room was very comfortable with food and drink and plenty of sofas to rest while waiting for our plane. The flight itself was worth a lot because you fly over the many atolls which are just like in the pictures in magazines - beautiful.
The resort itself is very good: the setting, the beach villas, the concept (small, buildings open on all sides, deluxe simplicity). Also, the food is very good. We ate at all the restaurants and the service was good except at the one at the west end of the island, where there was quite a long wait for all tables. We went to the pool each afternoon where from 5 to 7 each evening you have happy hour prices on drinks, which was nice while watching the sun go down .
We loved our large room, outside bathroom and our beach terrace, just 10 steps from our back door with a view of the sea. Personnally, we preferred the beach villa rather than the water villa.

1 weej Family holidays in Hilton

We had a family holiday Hilton for a week with a party of 81 Infinity water v. And 2 beach villas hat I would rate at 3.5-4 stars; we had the chance to experience water villas as well as 2 beach villas. Resort is in general good, friendly staff with good follow up, rather big island with 20+ min walking end to end, fantastic sandy beaches, with incredible lush rain forest type jungle-vegetation in the middle. There are plenty of room types with very confusing terminology, some of them rather misleading. ie. Beach villas all have similar , spacious design with open shower/ jacuzzi/ patio areas on the back however their location may make it or break Your holidays. Not all beach villas are on he beach , some with difficult access to the beach and no reserved/ allocated area to the villa. we experienced this for the first 2 days , then changed with lots of negotiations/ extra charge request to one right in the beach, with a private Patio. This was great , major improvement...
Water villas are spacious, we found the premium Horizon/ Infinity water n/ west villas not as smartly designed like the standard - north east- water villas- overlooking a huge jacuzzi rather than the water- and little aged in design. Nevertheless great experience, with a reef in swimming distance.
All extras - ie 80usd +Serv+tax rather average open buffet, 65 Usd pp snorkeling excursion, 210 Usd pp Lobster and seafood dinner- are expensive and rather mismatch to he quality vs. what you are paying, but this is Maldives !
