Arrived on Tuesday 27 Nov 2012 by seaplane, 50min fly. the view was magic. I was so excitied. Celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary. We couldn't wait to land. Hilton Iru Fushi resort and spa. We were met by the staff and they were so friendly. I think they were excited cos i was definetly excited. We were escorted to a outdoor lounge and were given a drink(non alcoholic) and explained where everything was and if we needed anything to just ask and they would endevour to make it happen. Well i did ask for a romantic dinner on the beach for our anniversay but it was booked out. not to worry. We have eaten at the iru restaurant, fluids bar, bamboo restaurant and could not fault the food or the service. Except its way so much food, but i know i dont have to eat everything. We have snorkled so far. We are staying in the water villa room 421. I love this place. We have a jacuzzi, a glass floor and even in the toilet you can see the fish swim by. And there is plenty of fish to see. We have our own ladder at the side of our balcony going down into the water, Its just like the brochure. A huge bed over looking the jacuzzi. This whole room is just wonderful. Nothing to complain about. Except price. prices in room. pricey.nescafe capsual. $4 ea.They do give complimentary water.. Celebrating our 25th Annivery, i would of at least expected a bottle of Champange. Drink prices at the bars are ok. But food is very expensive. Luckily our travel agent talked us into full board. If you eat in a different restaurant they will give you a credit of $70 off your bill. They have different theme nights. We had champange and Lobster $210ea.There was plenty to eat. So far all in all it has been just wonderful. and all the staff are so friendly. This is paradise. If you are a big eater and drinker go all inclusive. Thank you Hilton. It was all worth it.Going for Happy hour at reflections. You should see the pool there. OMG

Room tip: room 421. long walk second last water villa. You have a jacuzzi and your own ladder to the ocean. It was handy. the view is breath taking. its quiet. Private..

Dear Mylene057,

Thank you for choosing Hilton Maldives Iru Fushi Resort and Spa for your 25th wedding anniversary!

Unfortunately, we were not aware that you were celebrating this wonderful occasion until a few days after you had arrived and I understand that my team made arrangements for a lovely celebration cake and special turn down service.

It was a pleasure to meet you both at the management cocktail party. My team and I were indeed very happy that you could join us.

It is good to know that you are enjoying your stay in the Water Villa, the wonderful Maldivian hospitality and the exciting dining options. My team are always happy to learn when our guests have great stay experiences with us.

We truly appreciate your generous compliments and it continues to be our pleasure to extend our warm hospitality to you for the rest of your holiday.

Yours sincerely,

I have been there for my honey moon for 6 nights..i choosed 3 nights in King beach vila and 3 nights at Water villa this is the best combination you can do there, lazards rats etc are expected there since you are living in a jungle ( King Beach Villa) but the room was amazing you have your own private villa with its outdoor bathroom we enjoyed so much... going to the king water villa was like a dream its just a luxury of relaxation and there are so many activities to do in the room that you don't know from where u start...concerning breakfast its amazing but at the main restaurant ( next to the reception) all the others were not good, watch it ..you will be charged if you use anything from the room such as the underwater camera or nespreso cubes .
if you want to buy a souvenir buy it from the hotel don't bother yourself and go to visit a local village because its very boring and you will get disapointed from the poverty that the people are living over there,

Spa is just great..speechless

Briefly.... Enjoy the room sea & Sun.......

Its great place to be

Dear Gee1983,

Thank you for staying at Hilton Maldives Iru Fushi Resort and Spa, we are glad that you had a memorable honeymoon with us.

It is very good to know that you were happy with the Beach and Water Villas, as well as the spa and we're glad that you felt well-looked after during your stay. The Food and Beverage team has taken note of your comments regarding breakfast and continue to ensure the high standards of our food quality and variety.

We wish to clarify that the island excursion is intended as an introduction to the culture of the Maldives and a glimpse into how the Maldivians have lived on islands like this for over two thousand years. While the Maldives is not a poverty stricken country, it does rely on the tourism industry to sustain a decent standard of living. The Hilton Maldives Iru Fushi Resort and Spa is proud to be part of various CSR projects that support the local community.

Regarding your point about the wildlife on the island, we do our best to maintain the raw and natural beauty for which the Maldives is known. Being a tropical island, living at one with the beautiful nature surrounding us is just part of the wonderful experience that we hope to impart to all our guests.

Thank you for your feedback and we hope to welcome you back, should you return to the Maldives for another holiday.

My husband and I travelled to this island for the last week of October. We have always wanted to visit the Maldives and this island did not disappoint! My husband is a diamond member on the Hilton Honours scheme so when we booked a beach villa we were upgraded to a deluxe beach villa and we were then offered another upgrade at a very good discount to a water villa which we decided to take. Our water villa 629 was really fabulous and being off the island on the jetties they are bug free! We got a fruit and wine basket in the room upon arrival which was also a nice touch, however, the wine could have been a little better quality though but it was still drunk!

Good points therefore: we loved our water villa, the snorkelling is amazing and we went snorkelling off our private jetty everyday, it was very useful that the snorkelling gear is also complimentary to borrow from the dive centre. We also went on the snorkelling safari which was really worth it. Around the resort we saw manta rays, angelfish, snappers, unicorn fish and many more. Staff we would like to mention would be Riza, our guest services manager, it was nice that he checked in on us every now and again to make sure we were okay and he gave us good information about the resort after meeting us off the sea plane. Also, Rifa from Flavours restaurant was very knowledgeable and we noticed how hard she was working being at breakfast everyday also. The sea plane is very fun but there is an extra charge that you obviously can't get out of! The breakfast is delicious and the happy hour at Reflections bar is worth doing for BOGOF drinks.

A few negatives though: One evening we ordered a bottle of South African red wine from Flavours restaurant which came chilled! We know many Americans drink their red wine cold but this is not how a red should be served or drunk so we were a little disppointed! The food there is amazing though! And,yes, your holiday will be pricey but we live in the Middle East so the prices are comparable to Dubai which is also an expensive holiday destination, but, look, it's the Maldives so you need to be aware of this!

Overall however, thank you so much for an amazing holiday experience. We loved it!!

Room tip: The Water Villas are a must!

Dear Morjen,

My team and I are delighted that you and your husband had a wonderful holiday with us!

Your loyalty as a Hilton HHonors member is truly appreciated and it is great knowing that you enjoyed your experience, from your stay in the Water Villa and snorkelling to our warm hospitality and food options. Riza and Rifa are grateful for your kind commendations; they are both dedicated, as is the rest of my team, to delivering the famous Maldivian hospitality and great Hilton experience to all our guests.

We have noted your comments regarding the red wine in Flavours. Whilst we are sorry that you were disappointed to find it chilled when it was served to you, we are nevertheless pleased that this did not take away from your delightful dining experience. As you know, due to the nature of the tropical climate in the Maldives, it is very important to retain the freshness and superior quality of our food and beverage products. To preserve fine wines in particular, it is necessary to regulate temperatures and therefore, all the red wines in Flavours are kept at a controlled average room temperature. When a bottle is taken out of this controlled environment, the wine may feel a little chilled at first when it is exposed to the outside ambient temperature and served.

Thank you for your valuable feedback and for staying with us. It will be our pleasure to have you with us again, should you plan another Maldivian holiday in the future.

Yours sincerely,

On arrival at Male we were swiftly taken to the excellent Hilton Lounge at the seaplane terminal where after a brief wait with cold drinks etc. we were flown to the Resort. On arrival there we were greeted by our designated host for the duration of the stay, in our case Jepsun who was welcoming and informative, who showed us to our Beach Villa and who contacted us every day during our stay to ensure that everything was as we wanted.
The room was perfectly located, with access directly to the Beach, and was large and comfortable with a superb semi outdoor bathroom. Our package included full board which included breakfast and dinner in the main Iru Fushi Buffet Restaurant, with lunch at any one of a number of alternative Restaurants. The Buffet was excellent with a wide choice of different dishes, and we dined there for our week's stay, mainly because there was no discount offered to dine elsewhere. The Restaurant was excellently managed and were welcomed and greeted by name from Day One, where Rachel and other colleagues, really were truly excellent hosts. A delightful touch was to receive complimentary Champagne on the evening of my wife's birthday, together with a cake delivered to our room. We only took lunch twice during the week, and if returning would definitely only book bed and breakfast, as we really didn't want lunch after a late breakfast, and so that we could sample the other Restaurants for dinner.
Although the Island was relatively large compared with some others, it was a comfortable 30 minutes stroll to walk around the glorious Beach, and there was an excellent Spa in the middle of the Island - all very relaxing.
The only disappointment that we had was that we felt that we had been charged too much for an additional three hour stay in our room as we had an evening flight, and after two emails sent after we reurned home we still had no response to our query. Motto I guess is to ensure that everything is in order prior to leaving, but disappointing all the same, and not normal Hilton treatment.

Dear Mr Reeves,

Thank you for reviewing your recent stay at Hilton Maldives Iru Fushi Resort and Spa, we are pleased that you had a wonderful holiday.

Jipsun and Rachel are most appreciative of your kind feedback and are glad that you felt well-looked after during your stay. They, together with the rest of the team, continually work hard to deliver the wonderful Maldivian hospitality and service so that all our guests can enjoy great stay experiences. We are all delighted to have made your wife's birthday a memorable one!

I am, however, very sorry to learn of your disappointment regarding your extended check-out charge. Whilst my team is happy to accord a complimentary late check-out upon request, this is often subject to availability of rooms at the time. Moreover, our Housekeeping team do have to factor in the scheduled arrivals of our guests on that same day. I have personally looked into this and can confirm that our resort was at full occupancy at the time of your check-out. In cases where our guests prefer not to extend their check-out times, our Recreation Area has all the comfortable facilities for them to relax and shower before their late departure.

It was a pleasure having you with us and we hope for the opportunity to be of service to you again when you next return to the Maldives.

Yours sincerely,
Alan Stocker

We have just returned from the Hilton Irufushi after a 5 night stay and it was the perfect place. We have high expectations and this place certainly met them.
We stayed in Villa 224. The room was spacious and spotless and we had direct access to the beach. You do sometimes hear the noise of the sea plane but it really isnt that bothering. After walking around the whole island we did agree that we felt that we had the best stretch of beach and water.

My only issue with the Villa was that the bathroom and toilet and sink is outside so if you are scared of insects & bugs then its not nice, especially at night. I did see a couple of cockroaches in the garden of our villa (they are my worst nightmare) but as soon as i let reception know they arranged for Pest Control immediately and our whole villa was treated inside and out, then deep cleaned the next day. Any dead ones after that were always removed swiftly. They do fumigate the whole Island every other day and given that it is a tropical island this sort of thing is somewhat expected and i do appreciate that they acted so swiftly to ensure the problem was dealt with.

The rooms are stock with 2 large complimentary bottles of water which is sufficient.

The food is awesome and there is so much variety to pick from. We were on Half Board and felt this was suffiecient for us as we dont always eat lunch anyway but when we did we were happy to pay for it.

I have read from some other reviews that the island is expensive, but this is to be expected as all of the food and drink is imported. Saying that we felt that it was pretty much the same as London price wise. The water is a bit expensive in the restaurant. If you go there you need to be prepared to spend.

The staff are absolutely lovely, all very helpful and always a service with a smile. Entertainment was good and i really like the fact that the staff themselves join in the entertainment (maldivian dance show) and really try to get the crowd going.

if you are looking to dive however this isnt the best place for it. But you will see some fishes. the Watersports were good and we had fun Jet Skiing.

Its truly a fab resort and we would like to thank the staff for making our stay so enjoyable.

Looking forward to visitning again.

Room tip: Deluxe Villa 224. Great location, close to everything and it has the biggest stretch of beach and the water is super clean on this side with not much dead seaweed. also the sun constantly beams by this spot on the beach
