The hotel looks like a Swiss Chalet, very cute. The rooms were very large with a balcony. Granddaughter loved the pool. Staff was very friendly and helpful. It was close to airport but a distance from downtown. I would stay here again.

Sheraton Hotels at Westport Chalet, for all of your superb services from beginning to end of our 2 1/2 day event.
The staff was excellent in every since of the word, they all went beyond expectation. Our experience with Sheraton Hotels at Westport was the best! We had wonderful clean fresh rooms with very comfortable beds. Thanks, for a well planned event. Might I add great food!!

Room Tip: Good location for things to do.

The hotel is interesting. The "chalet" refers to the half timbering and leaded glass windows. It is not an old hotel, but it is older --- built in the mid-1980's.

The weekend that we were here, the hotel was full and the area was bustling. There were many children and lots of people going up and down the hall --- but we had to open our door to even be aware of it. The sound-proofing was excellent.

In addition, the parking was ample. We used the underground garage to keep our car cool and we were always able to park near the door.

The rooms are on the small side. There was still enough room for our two large suitcases and we could clear the beds with no problem. There is no desk, but there is an easy chair and lamp. The bathroom is small but sufficient. And it is well appointed. There is a Speakman showerhead and the shower curtain is on one of the curved rods to make more elbow room in the shower.

The beds are extremely comfortable. Our room had a view of the swimming pool and a balcony. Despite the small size, I was happy with the room.

We booked a club level room, but we were late checking in (after midnight) and did not receive a club room. We were given club access despite the fact that there were no club level rooms available.

This was a popular choice for family reunions --- and there were many family reunion events booked into the hotel.

Despite the demands of a fully booked hotel, the front desk staff and housekeeping were excellent. The only drawback in service was the person staffing the club.

I don't know when breakfast begins, but I know that it is not supposed to end until 10 am. On Saturday morning we arrived at 9:50. We were greeted with "breakfast closes at 10." There was almost nothing left, but we made do with what was there. We did not have any expectations of having anything replenished given the time that we arrived.

However, on Sunday morning, we arrived at approximately 9 a.m. There were a few bagels, one piece of bread, the fruit was almost all gone and the eggs were empty. My husband asked that the eggs be replenished. The response was, "I have already refilled them three times." Immediately after us, a couple came in and asked that the eggs and pastries be restocked. They were completely ignored. After them, a young mom and her two children entered, and they again asked about the eggs and the pastries. I did not hear a response. Shortly after that, she removed the inserts to the chafing dishes, put them on a cart, and trundled off. She returned a few minutes later with eggs.

When I told her that the coffee carafe was empty, she pointed to the coffee espresso machine and told me to use that. I did. However, the espresso machine, in my opinion, is for those times during the day when there are not people arriving for meals. The espresso machine takes a minute or two to brew each individual cup. In contrast, the carafe requires only a moment for each person to pour a cup. There was a large commercial brewing system that was available to her in a service room. She simply could not be bothered to use it. On the positive side, she did keep the dishes cleared off of the tables.

I would have given the hotel at least a 4 if it had not been for our experience in the club.

I couldn't think of a better title than meh. It is fitting.

Likes: The lobby was nice looking and the staff was really friendly and willing to help you out with whatever you needed help with. The pool was nice and well kept. Every room has a balcony. The view, if you get a room on the back side of the hotel, is pretty. There is ducks outside (they don't get in the pool) and they will just walk up to you and eat food out of your hand. The rooms had really comfy beds and nice televisions. You could tell they really tried to update the room. Also, the room didn't smell bad (a smelly room can really ruin it.). The fitness room was really nice. They had free, individually wrapped headphones if you forgot yours at home, along with free fruit, water, and towels. The equipment was very nice. It is also, of course, close to St. Louis.
Dislikes: The area is advertised like its a hotspot and bustling because of the Westport Plaza but there is nobody there. Nobody. Its like a Ghosttown, or an episode of the Twilight Zone. Now for the actual Hotel part. When you first walk in you notice the smell. Its bad in a weird way. It is like they sprayed wayyy to much febreze everywhere. The hallways are even worse. The scent is too strong. The hallways are also very hot. The elevators are really small. In the room, there was a few stains on the carpet, but they were barely visible and there was very few. The rooms carpets are really outdated. There was a rip in our chair in the room. The bathroom door didn't have a lock on it. They didn't have free wifi. They didn't have free breakfast.

Overall, not a bad stay. It is worth what you're paying for it.

Dislikes:

Room Tip: Ask for a lake view room. If you have children, ask for ground level lake view for easy pool access...

We are happy that you enjoyed and appreciated our recently renovated lobby area and our location overlooking the lake. Our property prides itself on its many rooms with balconies that better allow our guests to relax and enjoy the scenery. It is also a pleasure to know that you had a wonderful night of sleep on our Sheraton Sweet Sleeper beds and our staff made you feel welcomed and at home.
We apologize that the Westport Plaza area had not been to your expectations. The Westport Plaza area has fairly recently changed ownership and there has been an added emphasis on attracting people to area with Plaza-wide events featuring live music. Perhaps when you return you could take advantage of a Party in the Plaza! We are sorry that there were several issues with conditions you experienced during your stay. The management team is collaborating to fix such issues with conditions.

The selling point on this hotel was the location. I loved the market and restaurant selection in the attached Westport Center. The hotel is on a nice little pond or lake that has a walking path around it. This was great for a stroll in the morning.
The hotel itself is nice, as mentioned before, the bathrooms are small. There is complimentary coffee in the morning. The staff was great with the exeption of the blonde supervisor or manager that was "training" the very nice girl at checkin. She was dismissive when asked questions. The bell service was fantastic and handled our rooms with ease.
I would definitely stay here again if the price was right.

Stayed two nights (Friday and Saturday). The room was small and bathroom smaller, with interiors looking like they were from the early 90's.

The air con was noisy and my room was opposite an ice vending machine that was used throughout the night by other guests, waking me. If that wasn't bad enough, the air con in the room was loud and had two settings "Freezing or off".

On one occasion my swipe card would not work, and was made wait 45 minutes by service.

Without knowing too much about the area, I'd say there's probably better accommodation options.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our Fourth of July weekend. The property was very clean and everyone was friendly and exceptionally helpful!! We loved the outdoor pool and Nestor was very prompt in helping us get the HVAC fixed immediately in our room upon check in. Evan in guest services did a great job on the phone, and since I work at another Starwood property doing that job, I was especially impressed with him! One and only suggestion is to put a clock out at the pool!

Room Tip: We were upgraded to the club level and loved it. It's worth the extra money.
