“They've got the seeds and the fun”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 7, 2013

Started out small but it has grown and grown and grown. They have good music, food and the best variety of heritage seeds you'll find anywhere. Give them a try. It's well worth your time.

“A special place for gardeners”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 17, 2012

We went on the first Sunday of the month and they had venders selling soaps, quilts, and craft items. The shops were open and one was selling fresh hot cinnamon buns, yum!!!
If you are into gardening, this place is known world wide. In fact, when we went home to Fla. we saw some of their seeds at a local store. Baker Creek is not a big place so if you are looking for a Disney type experience, this is not it. It is on a small scale, country type setting. They also have a restaurant on site.

“Annual Spring Planting Festival, Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Co.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2012

We probably would have enjoyed going to the seed store during regular hours instead of during the Spring Planting Festival. We read online about this event and decided we would go since it sounded so exciting. It did not say that we should have the bodies of 20 yr. olds to maneuver the maze. We walked about a 1/4 mile to get to the gate. No handicapped parking. (my husband is DAV) Then when we entered it was straight up a hill, about the length of a football field to get to the seed store, which was our ultimate reason for going. The only food was vegan hotdog, egg rolls, or vegan steak sandwich, (don't know what the steak part was) or fried rice plate with tofu dumplings. There were some delicious cinnamon rolls, tho. There were very few places to sit or get something to drink. We were so tired and hot and hungry and thirsty that we did not stay to see all the vendors merchandise. We had driven 180 miles. The festival was not very well organized. But we did get the seeds we wanted. (could have done that online.) The staff in the seed store were knowledgeable and helpful, so this does not reflect Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Co. per say.

“Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Co.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 22, 2012

This place is a must for all you gardeners. It has the best selection of heirloom garden seeds that I have seen. We should have waited until some of the other attractions of the village was open, but never the less it was still worth the trip. The staff was more than helpful in finding the seeds that we wanted. We are planing to go back later this spring. My wife and I had a fun time coming in from the North on the gravel county road that the village is located on, high water and all. We will have fond memories to recall for years.
