Owner description: The valley that cradles Bennett Spring has created a place of peace and recreation that has welcomed generations of enthusiastic anglers. Bennett Spring State Park is one of Missouri’s earliest state parks and continues today to attract fishermen and nature lovers seeking to make new memories. More than 100 million gallons of clear, cool water gush from Bennett Spring each day and form a spring branch stocked daily with rainbow trout waiting for lucky fishermen. Fishing may be the main draw but the park also offers many other amenities such as a dining lodge, campgrounds, cabins and hiking trails. Whether you are a traditional fishing enthusiast or someone seeking a place to relax and refresh, Bennett Spring State Park has what you need to make every trip one to remember.

The spring is absolutely beautiful, and there's a great 3d model of it at the nature center in the park. I grew up going to this park several times every summer. There are miles of great hiking trails, kids can feed fish at the hatchery, and the Lodge has excellent food. If you're walking along the river bank though, be sure to watch out for the fly fisherman since they do flip their line back behind them.

Impressive spring fed river. The hatchery was interesting. I also ate at the Lodge. The Lodge was built by the CCC during the Depression by stone masons. It is worth a trip to the Park and a meal at the Lodge.

This is a place to kick back, relax and fish. Everyone is focused on fishing, but they are friendly and nice. Not much else to do here but visit, read and fish and I think that is the way the people want it. I will back again

I would not go on opening day it can elbow to elbow they all line up and down the water to the river
waiting for the siren to sound to start, can be very crowded. I went in April, there were still alot of people there, so getting snagged by somebodys line still can cause frustration, but still enjoyable, you have to watch for trees that hang down by the water, but catching trout oh yes its awesome, even tho with some problems I will be coming back again. If you want to fish you have to have a park tag to fish, $2/3 for child/adult, but the hatchery is a good learning experience for the kids to see where they grow the fish, they release the fish every night, between Nov and Feb is catch and release you do not keep them, plus you are only limit to 4 a day and 8 in your possesion that is all even cannot fish for no other fish, even in the Niangua River. Conservation law, so read up before going.

We love going to bennett springs. Its a cheap short trip...fishing permits are $2/3 for child/adult. It is stocked with trout every night so there is a chance for cstching fish...even if you are a novice. We stayed in the canins this trip...while the size was good they were not very clean.
