Owner description: Descend into the depths of Onondaga Cave State Park and drop into a world of wonder: towering stalagmites, dripping stalactites, and active flowstones help make the cave a National Natural Landmark and illustrate why Missouri is often called “The Cave State.” Visitors can take guided tours into the underground wonderland. But if you prefer the surface, the park’s Vilander Bluff Natural Area provides a panoramic view of the Meramec River. Easy access to the Meramec River allows visitors to canoe or fish in a bucolic setting.

We love camping at Onondaga. The hosts are very nice. Kids love the hiking trails and caves.

“Bat Festival”
Reviewed May 29, 2012

We went to the park for the Bat Celebration it was small but great. The live bats that were brought in were really neat to see up close. Lots of things for the kids to do to.

“The cave is the highlight”
Reviewed April 24, 2012

This is not one of my favorite parks to camp or swim, but the cave is worth seeing for a tourist adventure. The guided tour of the cave is pretty standard.
