“Good Value”

You never know what you're really going to get when it comes to the term "fully furnished" with rental condos, but I was pleasantly surprised to find everything from towels to wine glasses to a blender to frozen ice cubes waiting in the freezer! The furniture was all in good condition and not too outdated. The only drawback was that the bed in our Bay Point room was quite hard compared to the plush bed I sleep on at home. A positive (or negative depending on how you look at it) is with it being so close to the interior of the lake that it was at minimum a 20-minute drive to get to any chain restaurants, grocery stores or sites along a very curvy road.

Room Tip: The view was good - I would recommend getting a room on the top floor for a better view (at Bay Poin...

This was definitely a nice place to stay and is on the water! Super clean! The owners are nice...however the owners run the place partially like a Nazi camp in that every service and amenity has a set of strict directions. Our family was sitting on the deck making almost no noise (sipping on some beers) and as the owner oddly walked passed us, he commented "make sure after 10, you keep it down". Unnecessary and a bit overbearing. I went to ask for an extra blanket for the pull-out couch and the owner commented "why not just turn the air down?". When I'm paying 150 bucks a night at least to stay in your place, don't tell me how to set my thermostat. All of the furniture was outdated. For the price I paid, I expect a tv that isn't from 1996. Wifi doesn't work in the rooms but only in certain parts of the resort. It was a clean stay and was peaceful, but no rowdiness in the pool, no loud noises anywhere, etc. It needs a lot of modernizing and the owner needs to let the leash out a little.

The Golden Horseshoe is a small family resort. The parents, daughter, son, and boyfriend called from Osage Beach looking for a room for two nights. They came by to see the room and were pleased with the accommodations and the cost of $125/nt. plus taxes, for 5 adults for Fri. and Sat. night. My husband was closing the pool at 10pm Fri. night and doing his rounds before going in for the night. As he walked by their room, they asked him if he wanted a "blueberry shot".He told them no thanks and reminded them of quiet time after 10pm. The father came in and asked for the blanket since the room was too cold. We laughed and suggested they turn the A/C up so the room wasn't as cold. The boyfriend, who we think wrote the review, was nearby and said he likes the room cold. We didn't intend to offend them! The WIFI signal varies based on the weather and time of day. It is better some times than others. It was a rainy weekend which is why the resort was quieter than usual and wifi difficult to connect.

My husband and I decided to take a spur of the moment trip to get out of town and away from the daily grind. Not thinking we were going to stay overnight somewhere, we only left the house with our swim trunks and a change of clothes. We ended up at the Ozarks and the first two places we chose were booked solid. I called the Golden Horseshoe Resort and they happened to have a room left. When we checked in the owner offered us towels for the beach (which we did not bring) and gave us great advise on what we could do in the area.

We went to our room and were quite amazed at the amenities the resort offered. We had a fridge, stove, and all of the pots and pans and dishes to go along with it. Since we were set, we decided to go ahead and stay in for the night. The resort had a bbq grill for each room. We ended up grilling some steaks, playing by the pool, relaxing in the hot tub, and at the end of the night we took a dip in the lake.

It was everything we could ask for and more! We will be going back with the kids!

Room Tip: Make sure to clean up after you enjoy a great nights stay!

Our family stayed at this resort for the first time last week. The owners, Kevin and Becky Unger, are very nice and helpful. Our unit had two bedrooms, a living area, a full bathroom, and a small kitchenette. The unit was very clean and well kept. We were on the 2nd floor and had a great view of the lake from our deck. We loved sitting on the deck each morning drinking our coffee. The view was so beautiful and the area was so peaceful and quiet. Each unit had its own charcoal grill, so we made our own dinner a couple of nights we were there. Our favorite part was the pool, which was really big and very clean. Restaurants and shopping were about 10 minutes away and easily accessible. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend to others.
