“Whats not to like?”
Reviewed August 12, 2012

The close proximity to the airport, Zona Rosa, and the interstate make this an obvious choice. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and the airport shuttle means you can drop your rental at the airport the night before you leave to make it simple to catch you flight without any stress. The shops, restaurants and clubs in Zona Rosa are literally a short walk from your room and there's also plenty of parking if you chose not to walk. The trip to downtown KC from the hotel is quick and easy, even during rush hour on most days. On top of all this the hotel is 100% smoke free so you'll breath easy and it's pet friendly so you can bring your best friend along to share in the fun.

When you first see this property, you know it needs an upgrade.Pretty clean for an older place, lobby looked more modern than rest of property. Check in clerk was terrific, very pleasant and very smooth checkin. Walking down the hallway to room and you just got that "OLD" place feel. i was suprised at room...not bad at all with flat screen tv, refrig and nice microwave.pretty good size room and clean. Room door had large gap under it which I was not thrilled about, we should have put something against that...Why??? Next morning in bathroom, we had bugs..still moving..iam thinking some were dying roaches..That was not pleasant when you must take a shower and get out to catch an early flight.I notified young girl clerk and she didn't even bat an eye, I then told her that you might want to let housekeeping know about the bugs under the bath towels..she just kind of grunted and that was it..Not a "sorry" or anything...La Quinta even sent me a survey and I told them everything...Did not receive a response from them either!!
If there would have been no bugs, then this would have been a better review.. Parknfly was only $4 a day and they have great shuttle service, new vans and shuttles and on time, that was terrific. No restaurant on property, they do have small pool and exercise room that look nice, they supply normal continental breakfast, we left too early to try. Restaurants in area are plentiful to go eat at and easy to get to. We used AAA discount to get reduced price and I was happy with that, price is going to be a little high being close to airport. Still, would not stay at again or recommend..Ive talked to other people that travel and they said other La Quintas have been very pleasant, but they are newer properties.

Room Tip: DO NOT get a room by the back door on first floor.....If you do stay, place something against bottom...

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your stay. I first want to let you know that your concerns are not being ingored. A little shifting in the building has cause some doors to shift and we are in the process of fixing the doors as we speak. Our entire staff considers cleanliness of our property to be our number one priority and our desk agent did forward your comments to me which were in turn sent to our Pest Control Company. I am happy to report we have not had any issues in that room or any other since that date.

Here at the LaQuinta Inn KCI we want to make sure our customers get a great value and clearly we didn't live up to our promise, I will call you and in hopes of making this right. I look forward to speaking with you soon.

Best Regards,

Anand Patel

I stayed here for 3 nights. It has an indoor pool, laundry room, Internet in the lobby and in the room with a desk. My room was an updated room with a queen bed, desk and a comfy recliner. The pillows were just right, not too hard and not too tall. Additionally, it had a refrigerator, large flat screen TV with cable, coffee pot, and hair dryer. The breakfast is the typical juice, bagels, waffle machine, and fruit. The bed was very comfortable and the room quiet! Its in a great location with gas station, restaurants, and shopping close by.

The Hotel common areas very clean, nice staff and the rooms could use a little furniture update. Office chair and desk were a little bad. But the room was spotless clean and very roomy! Can see some updates have been done..

Do not stay at this hotel. There was mold on the bathtub. The ceiling in the bathroom was sagging in places in what looked like water damage. The wood at the bottom of the bathroom door was rotten and missing about a half an inch. i'd never recommend this hotel to anyone.

My friends and I recently stayed here for a girls week-end. The front desk staff were friendly and nice. The breakfast was great with a nice variety and an awesome waffle AND pancake machine. The breakfast staff was always cleaning off tables, taking dirty plates and offering to get something for us. Before she would close, she went to every table to see if there was anything anyone needed. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is that the hallway smelled of smoke and mildew. This was a non-smoking hotel and in their defense the temperatures were in the 100's while we were there so that may have explained the problems with the stuffiness. Great location right across the street from Zona Rosa and many stores, restaurants, movie theater and comedy club!

Have stayed at this hotel several times and have been very pleased each time. The shuttle for the airport always leaves promptly and we always sleep very well before a flight. The breakfast is adequate and the personnel are always so friendly and helpful.
