I did not come here with high expectations since we are in town with a group of young girls for softball and really just needed a place to lay our heads. However, at the very least I expect cleanliness & an attempt at upkeep. This place had neither. It was filthy, rundown and just sad. It is completely dilapidated & it is embarrassing to the Choice hotel chains. There are many other options in the same price category that would give you much more for your money.
*no clean towels
*dirty comforters
*malfunctioning toilets
*broken or missing ceiling tiles
*mold
*carpet was disgusting
...etc

The room they checked me into was not completely clean. It was obvious the carpets had not been vacuumed. The clock was unplugged. The desk lamp was missing. I called and requested they send someone to finish cleaning the room. After waiting an hour for someone to show I called again. A few minutes later the sales manager showed up with a vacuum. After she finished vacuuming I pointed out the lack of light around the desk. She confirmed there was suppose to be a desk lamp. However she never had one sent to the room. A couple hours after I went to bed someone tried to enter my room. Ten minutes later they returned and again tried to enter my room. They said they were checked into the room. I had to call the front desk and ask them to quit giving out keys to my room. It was several hours later before I got back to sleep.

There were also lots of little annoying things about this hotel. When the vending machines would not take dollar bills I went to the front desk to get $5 in quarters. They only had $2 dollars worth in the til. Not sure if they had any elsewhere. The clerk showed no sign of being willing to look. There is no a/c in the hallways. Had to listen to the room a/c run all night as the building retained so much heat. Had to crawl under the desk to access the wall outlet at the desk. The free breakfast had a very limited selection. Was not kept stocked.

When checking out I spoke with the manager. She offered to deduct $20 from the bill. When I said that would not even begin to make up for all of the problems. she said that was all she was going to do. She said no matter what the problems were she was not allowed to do anything more than offer $20 off the bill. Their customer service policy of making things right is a joke.

From the shuttle driver to the desk clerk to the sales manager to the hotel manager I failed to see anyone show any signs of professionalism one would expect from the staff of a national chain hotel.

Not really sure where to begin other than to say that looks are VERY deceiving. Upon entering the lobby everything is nice and pretty, but once you get down the hall to where all the rooms are, it's not very nice. This hotel is very dated, needs a lot of love. It is also EXTREMELY hot in this hotel even down in the lobby area. Our room was very simple, the bed was very comfortable. However the thermostat only goes down to 65 degrees and because we were on the 5th floor it was still really uncomfortable. The staff is unfriendly and they dress very unprofessional, nobody wears a nametag. People down in the lobby bar were even saying that this place isn't a very good place to stay. We were supposed to stay here for 4 nights and only stayed one, but only chose this hotel because everything in the Kansas City area and surrounding was sold out. WILL NEVER STAY AT A CLARION AGAIN!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a lower lever especially if you will be staying here in the summer months.

I had a wonderful experience at the hotel. Frankly I was surprised at the reviews. The staff were professional and the hotel was well maintained. I was impressed with the staff's willingness to go above and beyond to be helpful. They were open to suggestions and receptive. Thanks for a great stay.

I showed up to the hotel and the elevator was broken. The spa they offer also broken. The pool looks like it hasn't been cleaned. Mud in parts of it at the bottom. They say pet friendly ,but there are 1-2 ft hole all around the outside of the hotel in the grass areas. Majority of the staff are rude. Rooms are filty. Dirty sheets, tables, dressers.Noticed a spill by back door that sat there for 2 days. Lock to pool door broken on one door have to go around. Management refused to address any issues.
