“Staff was great”

While at check in w the clerk, There was a blonde lady that was also at the front desk that was very helpful. She spoke up when I ask directions. Later in the evening I needed my neck wrap microwaved. Although she was very busy, that same lady stopped what she was doing to help me.
Yes the hotel has some miles on it but it was every bit worth the price. I will return because of the stellar customer service that I received.

This place is so dirty I'm uncomfortable. I can't believe they are allowed a 3 star rating! I usually trust the Priceline name your own price deals to be fair, but $58 bucks for this dump is robbery. There is mold and peeling paint everywhere. The furniture is scratched, there was some sort of goober on the TV guide, and there were floaters in the bottom of the tub when I turned the water on.

There were dozens of cars on the lot, showing that the primary marketing strategy is as a park and ride for the airport. The hotel shows plenty of overall neglect; all the way from the lobby with a broken out tile, to the elevator with mildew and busted lights, to the bathtub that wouldn't drain. The manager appears to be a live-in (seen there all hours of the day), and all staff is in street clothes without nametags, nor professional demeanor. I suspect the owners are determined to squeeze every nickel from this property without any additional investment nor care. Even without finances, nobody onsite has any pride in their work.

The common areas:
- Elevator - mildew on walls, broken indicators
- Ice Maker - only on every other floor, except on 6 where it was replaced with a faux plant
- Hallway Carpet - worn, stretched out and misshapen
- Windows - Broken drywall and caulk
- Pool - hot tub bubbles broken (when we asked for towels, rather than "let me bring them to you" it was "follow me to the laundry")
- Continental Breakfast - they ran out of food; not one thing or two, all of the food by 8:45 - there was one couple who had to get their coffee from the front desk area. We were just wanting a humble bowl of instant oatmeal with hotwater, but told "We ran out over the holidays". I felt cheated by a free breakfast.

The room:
- Bad carpet with an iron melt pattern
- Bathtub that wouldn't drain (maintenance off for New Years holiday)
- In room cups for a multi-day stay left as is without replacements
- Super hot bedroom (wall based heater in off position)
- 1980s Microwave (turn based timer)
- Refrigerator froze my beverages
- New Samsung 32" LCD TV
- Very comfy bed with good bedding

Room Tip: Come in the winter when you can open a window to cool off your room.

I hated really everything about this hotel, except for the staff, who were super friendly and helpful.
The bad:
-room was set at 76 degrees, it was hard to cool it down- it made for a very uncomfortable night of sleep
-everything was dirty. I would not go barefoot anywhere in our room or in the halls. My socks were black after walking around for a little bit.
-the power went out during our stay and the elevator broke down. We had to haul 5 pieces of luggage, 3 kids car seats, and ourselves down 7 flights of stairs for an early morning flight.
-the bathroom was TINY.
-there were no ice machines; we had to get ice from the bar.

The worst thing about this hotel is the staff. They really haven't been trained at all. Check-in was a joke... none of the people behind the desk looked professional (in jeans and un-tucked shirts)... in fact, you wouldn't even have known they were employees other than the fact they were behind the desk. They were all talking about personal stuff... their trips to wal-mart, when they get off work, etc.

The parking lot was full (they offer airport parking which uses up their available space for overnight guests) so I had to walk over from next door (dragging my luggage).

The room looked recently updated, but the carpet was coming up all over the room. I kept tripping on it.

The elevator was broken (with no sign to say it was out of order... so people just stood there and waited forever until they finally gave up and/or realized it was broken).

The "restaurant" didn't even open on time.

Like I said, these people have NO IDEA how to run a hotel or the meaning of customer service. I will never, ever stay here again.

Room Tip: Find a room at another hotel.

I love this hotel. Free breakfast, free internet, swimming pool and hot tub. My room is comfortable and staff is great. Will stay here every time I come to KC. Housekeeping has done a great job of working around my work schedule.

Room Tip: dinner at hotel is very good.

Beautiful wallpaper, furniture and tv. Old hotel with plenty of wear and tear. Small mattress cover that does not cover the top of the mattress. Mattress old and stained. Bad smell around the toilet. Lots of black mildew on baseboards in toilet/tub room. Mildew also needs to be cleaned from grout between tiles. Shower curtain hung too low, 2-3 inches on floor of tub. Breakfast advertised from 6-10am but lady seemed irritated to have to replenish for us at 9:45. I was very glad to leave after a 2-night stay.
