I bumped into this place a year ago on my way to the Bluebird Café next door. At first glance it looked like a tiny boutique, with loaves of bread lining the shelves. I knew immediately that I would not be leaving without buying a loaf. Every two weeks since then, on Saturday mornings, I make my pilgrimage and drive downtown from Overland Park to pick up some grain travel, ciabatta, sprouted quinua . My 92 year old mother is also hooked on it. After reading that this bakery is considered by many to be one of the top bread bakeries in the country, I now consider it more than a boutique.....it's a place to buy art off of the walls ( a variety of 7-8 different kinds of bread. In the Summer months, we even make it down on Saturday nights to wait in line for 35-40 minutes to but "cheese slippers" filled with local fruits, vegetables, mushrooms, nuts, eggs.
One of my very favorite places in Kansas City - GREAT folks to deal with. GREAT vibe to the place.
