Description: JJ's is one of the oldest independent restaurants in the Kansas City area. We have recently moved 800 ft away from our old location, to the main lobby of the new Polsinelli building in the west plaza area. We have a very contemporary dining menu and one of the largest wine list in the city. We are a restaurant for all occasions, and celebrations. We offer full service in all of the restaurant, including bar and patio when weather permits. We have a late menu on Friday and Saturday nights, and specials for all days of the week. Happy Hour 4 to 7 - 7 days a week! Free parking in buildings garage is included with your visit. For all other details please call us or visit our website. We look forward to having you. Cheers, JJ's

We had been to JJ's once before for my husband's birthday celebration last year and had a nice meal at the bar. We were impressed by the ambiance and food at the time, although the bar staff was not at all as personable as what we've experienced elsewhere and on that particular evening it felt like they were catering to their crowd of "regulars" or close by residents on the Plaza. We decided to go back again for our 40th anniversary recently and made reservations for the two of us this time in the dining room. Upon arrival, the hostess was upbeat and acknowledged that it was noted we were there to celebrate a special occasion. Unfortunately, this fell on the same night that the annual Plaza Art Festival ended and a few hours after the first Sunday home game of the season for the Chiefs. The dining room was busy, but not full to capacity. It appeared that they were just short staffed. Our server had been assigned a very large party of about 25 and was more attentive to their needs than ours, although there were other servers, with fewer tables to oversee. It took a while after being seated for her to even show up to take our order, but when she did she acknowledged the delay and offered an apology. That may have temporarily smoothed things over. However, throughout the meal it was apparent that the larger party was more of a priority than our anniversary celebration. They really should have been sectioned off by the door which divides the two dining areas to provide them privacy, and make it less obvious to others as the reason for the server to be so preoccupied. We couldn't help notice the difference in service. The food was very good, the restaurant is well appointed and upscale, but twice we have experienced a real disconnect when it comes to service here. I believe in second chances, but with prices being comparable to other top-notch restaurants on the Plaza, JJ's is certainly not striving to win over the customer by delivering a memorable experience to all. In fact, it seems that they have their preferred crowd, and we haven't made that list. Where there are so many other choices, this restaurant has now fallen to the bottom as far as places we will return too.

We were staying near by and loved JJ's. It was a lovely evening and we were able to dine on the terrace. The food was very good and so was the service.

Absolutely delicious, with a really nice setting, and not overpriced. They are warm staff who care about their customers, I suggest you order the burger, bacon wrapped shrimp, and the pear salad, although from my experience, all dishes are fab.

We dined at JJ's on a recent visit to the Country Club Plaza. The wine list and menu were both extensive and varied....there is something for everyone. The restaurant décor is beautiful with upscale light fixtures, finishes and lots of beautiful ledgestone. The food was just OK - I ordered the boar ragu with parpadelle; my husband ordered a filet and mashed potatoes. Both portions were large. My husband's steak was partially underdone. He ordered it prepared medium and as he got to the end of it, part of it was raw. Our server never offered bread service; we were told we had to request it. We were out of town guests dining at JJ's for the first time and would have no idea we had to request bread service. When we asked for bread, she brought a basket of both crispy and soft bread items which were delicious. She never, however, brought us bread plates. Overall, she seldom checked on our dining experience, asked whether our food was to our liking or if we needed anything. We felt her service was average at best. Our bill was well over $100. We expected more value and a better experience for the price. The restaurant has underground parking and will validate it for restaurant diners which was a plus. We're uncertain if we'll return. There are many outstanding restaurants on the Country Club Plaza.

I took my son their for his birthday and the food was amazing. The ambiance is great and I felt that the prices were comparable to the entire dining experience. We had steaks (of course) and the butter infused potatoes. We finished with the chocolate thunder. MMMMMM
