The location of this hotel in the power and light district of KC cannot be beat. However, we ran into more problems at this hotel than any other (and we travel a great deal). To start, the valet service is an absolute joke. So slow that by the time you are actually serviced you could have parked your own car and walked to the hotel 4-5 times already. The building is historic and lovely, but it comes with all the problems you find in old buildings. Primarily, it was always hot in our room - not matter what we did to the thermostat or how many windows we opened a crack to let some kind of air flow in. The noise from the rooms around you are very, very obvious and disruptive. None of the rooms have fridges in them (unless you want to pay an additional $30). And there is an overall lack of amenities with the room - no pool, no spa, no hotel restaurant (there is a restaurant attached to the hotel and there is a bar at the hotel - The Drum Room). Historic and a good location just could not make up for the poor service, lack of amenities, and other old building problems this hotel suffers from. We won't return.
