Staying with a friend and this was the closest place to walk to on a cold night. It was a lot smaller than I thought would be. There is a bar, a few scattered tables, and an upstairs area that was occupied by some sort of "Ladies Club" who were more than a tad hostile when I strayed into their realm. :-)
The room was not terribly clean, and the bathroom ... well, gulp, never mind.
Nice tunes were playing, but were too loud to talk over, and the place was about half-full, mostly with people eating and trying to talk.
The special was a little filet mignon for $12.95 with a side, which they said was "the same meat they have at the Plaza III" ... it wasn't the same cook, using the same oven, as what were obviously decent little steaks came out cooked WAY beyond the amount ordered, but not at sufficient heat. You could sort of tell how good they would have been if better prepared ... like, even by me on my gas grill at home. Oh, well. We also had a grilled chicken sandwich that was nice and tasty.
The servers were very friendly and two different ones showed up occasionally and alternately, not really knowing what the other had done. But, they brought beer when I asked, so there's that.
Bottom line: This is the un-Plaza spot at the Plaza. It's a little too "grody" (Word!) and a little too loud for its own good, but if I could get the chance to show that cook a few things about that steak special, they could have something here. Okay, we didn't have a burger, which is what they claim to do well, so we might drop back in once they open the patio.
