“Great dinner!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 2, 2012 via mobile

Overall, great experience! We try to visit when we are in KC!

We sat in the bar so we could watch a big game. The bar wait staff was very attentive. We started with the lettuce wedge, then split the ribeye with mashed potatoes. It was cooked perfect!

We finished with cheesecake, which is the best in the world! It is perfect size for two!

We met the manager who was very friendly.

Overall great experience.

“Best Steak House Ever”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2012

My husband and I had dinner here and each of us ordered the filet. We agreed that it was one of the best meals that we have ever experienced. Service was first rate, and those filets...sizzling on the plates were to die for. Perfectly prepared as we had ordered.

We split an order of sauteed mushrooms and also split a baked potato. Perfect. We have been to this chain in St. Louis and it does not compare to the one in Kansas City. This restaurant has always been "a la carte," but they now offer a full dinner from soup to nuts for $42.95. If you can eat all of those courses, this is a bargain.

“5/5 on food, 4/5 on service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2012

When you are paying $200 for a meal, you expect things to be done right. Our food was very good as to be expected. However, a mistake was made with each course (wrong salads, wrong drink, etc), except dessert. We had to prompt to get bread also. Our final bill had a 3rd salad on it, even though there were clearly 2 of us at the table. At times, our waitress was a bit short with us as well. It's the little things that leave an impression. We had superb service at another Ruth's Chris, but this one wasn't quite up there.

“Keeps the chain's great reputation”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2012

This classic restaurant is true to the chain's overall good reputation. Located in the historic Plaza shopping area it has plenty of competition but as a steakhouse comes out on top. The beef is exceptional even in "Cowtown USA", their usual large side dishes which much be shared plus a more than satisfactory wine list. We more often visit it for celebrations like birthdays and anniversaries, which they make a special event (so tell them when you make the reservation).
Valet parking is available for $6.75 like most of the high end spots on the Plaza, but there is plenty of public parking with a parking garage across the street.

“If heaven has a restaurant, it must be a Ruth's Chris”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 17, 2012

If I had three wishes, a meal at Ruth's Chris would be one of them. I don't get to go often, but then again, if you go to a place like Ruth's Chris too much, it isn't as special as it should be. If you consider yourself a conisseur of fine beef, you have to eat here at least once before you die.

The beef is not what you buy at the corner grocery. This is USDA Prime. The real deal. Nothing less than the best. And Ruth's Chris seals in the taste of every piece of beef it serves by broiling it at 1800 degrees, and then serving it on 550-degree plates with a touch of butter. Be careful, because your eyeballs may pop out of your sockets when your steak arrives, cooked to perfection no matter how you request it.

Ruth's Chris would be awesome if all it served were steaks. But there's so much more than steaks. The salads are always fresh, with delicious dressings. The potatoes are the best Idaho has to offer, always cooked golden brown. The vegetables are so green you'll be envious if you don't order yourself some and you see someone else eating them.

If steak is not your thing, don't fret. Try the lobster tail, or if you're indulgent, a whole Maine Lobster. The lamb chops are also an excellent non-steak entree option.

Save room for dessert. Sinful bread pudding and naughty creme brulee. It will leave you speechless.

And don't forget, if you love wine, Ruth's Chris has dozens of options across the spectrum.

Ruth's Chris. The home of serious steaks.
