This place is hot right now, and reservations may be hard to get, but the bar is open seating--with full menu service at booths and tables. We had a great dinner (without reservations) on Valentines Day. Good food, great ambience, and a great staff. We will be back when we return to Kansas City.

Stopped in for a late lunch while out on the plaza. Split a lunch entree that was very good and had a flight of wine. Also did the wine tasting and got to try a lot of different and flavorful wines.

It's very difficult to recommend a restaurant when you leave still hungry, even after appetizers were ordered in addition to the lunch entry. The food itself was exceptionally good, but the portions should have been 50% larger. When you're paying $13 for a shrimp appetizer (actually closer to $15 after adding in the the Plaza sales tax) the expectation was for more than 5 medium size shrimp.

I had the pork medallions, it was exceptionally good, but again the portion was smaller than what many restaurants would serve from a children's menu. Not a chance it weighed more than 4 ounces from the looks of it.

Service was okay. Personally, I prefer not to be asked more than once if I like it. We were asked three times. And then the waiter interrupted us once again during our meal to pitch us on desert instead of waiting until after the meal was completed. Almost like there was some urgency to get us fed and out of there.

Cooper's Hawk is not cheap, with a single glass of wine, an ice tea, an appetizer and two lunch entries, the total was $75 once a 15% tip was added-in. At that price level, the service should have been flawless, the portions generous, and the sensation that I had just been somewhere real special. It failed on these counts, though if you prize good food, they do indeed pass muster in this one critical area.

We were enthralled with this restaurant initially, but we found the in house wine choices to not be good for us. The food was, at first, good but did not seem to be consistent. The atmosphere is wonderful and we especially enjoy the bar area.

I was there with friends before going to the theater we decided to give this place a try. The lower level is where you can taste wines, purchase wine related products. The restaurant is upstairs, modern decor, was inviting. We got there early for a Saturday, it was a good thing, the place filled up about 45 minutes later. Our waitress what knowledgable about the menu. She hit it out of a park with a recommendation on shrimp appetizer that was tasty. I asked for recommendations on the gnocchi options, and based on her recommendations opted for the butternut squash gnocchi. Absolutely delicious. The menu is quite extensive, & they offer various pairings, one of my friends ordered from this paring a surf and turf where she about 3 options of surf and turf to combine. She also loved it. My other two friends went for soup and salad, both being lovers of a good wedge salad. Their only complaint, was too many red onions on the salad. A little red onion does go a long way. 3 of us also tried a flight of their wines. We each ended up with the Lux Flight, we agreed that the Chardonnay and Cabernet was the best of the lot, the Pinot was the most disappointing out of the lot & the other was just ok. They do offer an extensive wine list so I would be interested in trying others, but the food was the biggest winner. We will be back.
