Our second time staying here when seeing a concert at Midland Theater. One of our favorites. Very nice accommodations, especially for handicap accessible folks, staff is very friendly and helpful, free breakfast is good. Great location near the Power and Light district. We will always choose Fairfield Inn Downtown when in Kansas City.

I only spent 1 night here. The walls are paper thin, I could understand the ladies telephone conversation in the room next to me. My other neighbor woke up and showered at 4AM. You get the picture.

The room was clean, the TV was nice and ACTUALLY had HD. Good stay for 1 night, would hope for a high floor away from main street if I had to stay more than 1 night.

Stayed here for 2 nights in September.
Not sure how Marriott rate these Fairfields in their hiraque, but in general I would place this as a 3 star.
The Hotel was well located on Main Street and I found it easy enough from Interstate 35.
The staff were freindly and helpful, especially the taxi driver, who seems to be unofficially based at the hotel. We had great conversation and he gave me a book on the history of his home country, that was unexspected and really kewl !!!!!
I can noy fault anything about the hotel, except perhaps the buffet breakfast, that was a little dissapointing. But I am not familiar with the Fairfield brand, maybe that's normal.

The brick exterior suggests a more upscale Fairfield Inn, but that is the extent of unique style. The good news is that the hotel has plenty of substance. The interior is standard Fairfield décor. The rooms are simple – bed, desk, flat screen TV, microwave, and a chair with ottoman. The hotel offered over 60 channels, but there was a signal error, so only about one-third were viewable. In defense of the property, I discovered this the morning of check-out, so it is possible that a quick adjustment would resolve the problem. The bathroom is spacious, but in terms of functionality, the water pressure was weak. These two issues would not deter me from returning, as amenities were satisfactory and the room was clean.

As with other Fairfield Inns, a continental breakfast is included. The hotel offered a variety of pastries and cereal, and there is also a waffle-maker. Despite arriving a few minutes prior to the breakfast close, there were still an abundance of options.

In terms of location, the hotel is walking distance to Crown Center (walking distance defined as seven blocks). There is also ample parking on-site. While this hotel will not earn style points, it is a clean place to hang your hat.

Pros: Clean rooms, complimentary breakfast and wireless internet, ample parking

Cons: Not all cable channels were functioning, weak water pressure

Room Tip: The lobby level is on the second floor. The first floor rooms have a basement feel, so you may want...

I stayed here on business. The front desk was very helpful, especially when I asked about food markets and restaurants; they're about 5 minutes away. They had either pre-written instructions or annotated local maps for me. The exit from the parking lot on to Main Street was somewhat dangerous as cars parked on Main to the left obscured oncoming traffic. I would suggest exiting the parking lot using the other exit. The exercise room was OK; however, it has a movement sensor that turns off the light about every 10 minutes if you're using the elliptical machine. Breakfast was OK: I ate yogurt, a hard-boiled egg and an english muffin. No hot, cooked eggs or bacon/sausage. Fresh baked cookies at front desk in the early evening.

This property is convenient to Hospital Hill and Crown Center, less than three miles north of the Country Club Plaza and Westport areas, and less than four miles from UMKC and Rockhurst.

Major props once again to the Marriott Rewards program!

Our room was clean and quiet, located on the top floor at the end of the hall. It was precisely as we had requested: Available for early check-in and late check-out, two queen-sized beds, and extra pillows. The windows and outside walls are sound-resistant and nearly soundproof.

We enjoyed the high-speed internet, microwave, refrigerator, phone, and 37" LG flat-panel. The indoor pool and hot tub were perfect for a relaxing afternoon on day two.

The complimentary hot and cold breakfast featured self-serve waffles via timed 'flip-iron', Jimmy Dean sandwich biscuits, bagels, English and fruit muffins, juice, milk, coffee, cold cereal, fresh fruit, all the condiments and so much more.

Thanks again, Fairfield and Marriott. You KNOW we'll be back!

Room Tip: Marriott Rewards program is a must. We prefer a 4th floor room on the north or south ends.

Stayed 3 nights early June 2011 mid week. Very pleasant place, room was quiet, even with being right on the road end of the building, bed comfortable, room clean and spacious, internet easy to plug into (and free), and pleasant staff.
Breakfast was included, a reasonable selection, not what you would call up-market but still very good,(its always fun trying to use the waffle making machine to see if you can make the perfect waffle, nearly got there!). As I was travelling by air and then using public transport this hotel is right on a main road with plenty of both normal and express buses going in both directions. If you have a car, there is plenty of parking right outside the front door and a security man hanging around outside on the busier nights. Only down side, there is no bar. I was hanging out of a cold beer when I arrived and a snack of food. They have a selection of nibbles and sodas at reception but nothing you would call food. However the staff pointed me in the direction of a BBQ restaurant not too far down the road and a cold beer was found. Don't be surprised when you are having breakfast that you see a few people with prosthetic limbs, as there is a major physical rehab centre close by, so if you are in that situation yourself, this is a good place to stay as the staff are quite used to it. There are also other restaurants in both directions on the main road not too far away.
Overall quite a nice place. Would recommend unless you wanted a hotel with Bar & Restaurant.

Room Tip: Smile at reception
