Yelp helped us pick out this place and they did not disappoint. Went on a Thursday, so they were not busy at all. Interior reminds me of a dive bar, but don't let that scare you away. We ordered the Meatloaf sandwich and a Reilly burger with a turkey patty and added avocado. We found out later that Guy Fieri had tried the Meatloaf sandwich. That sandwich rocks! Its spicy, but not too bad. The Reilly burger has goat cheese, pesto, and tomatoes. Very, very good, but even better with avocado! Beer was kinda pricey, for the amount that they poured. Staff was good!

If the food wasn't good, you'd hate this place. There are a lot of other places that are more attractive and welcoming from the inside and outside. But for us the food was good and so was the service. It was a unique, relaxed and affordable lunch in KC. I was excited for the meatloaf sandwich and wasn't disappointed. As is, this is a great little lunch spot.

Was downtown and went to The Brick for lunch. The outside didn't have windows and I wasn't sure the place was open. We tried the door and went in and were immediately welcomed by a very pleasant staff. We must have been on the early side of the lunch crowd because it began filing up shortly after we got there. We had sandwiches and hotdogs. The food was excellent...well prepared and there was an appropriate selection of beers to go along with the sandwiches. It was an interesting place to look around and it look like a unique place to come to at night. A definite stop when in KC.

In a city that struggles to find itself, The Brick has clear identity with fun character. Solid food, creative but sturdy specials, and a cold glass of whatever makes this place stand out, after standing with the crowds on first Friday. Will return for the meatloaf sandwich.

A local friend took me to the Brick for lunch. It was not particularly impressive looking -- it looked like a run-down old bar, actually. But they had free Wifi, good beer and one of the best Reubens I've ever had. (I've heard the burgers are good, also.) Definitely a place I'd go back to for lunch.
