The contemporary gallery Midtown location is within walking distance of the larger more traditional art gallery, the art school and the Country Club Plaza shopping area. Art exhibits change approx. 4 times a year. Interesting items in the gift shop. Be sure to include lunch or dinner in your visit. The Cafe Sebastiene food is some of the best in Kansas City.

We always walk over here from the Nelson-Atkins. They have a cafe with great art coving all the walls. They had a really good photography exhibit by Laura McPhee. It's small and intimate.

While this is a small museum, it has good exhibitions and an impressive permanent collection. It focuses on contemporary art and is often the cutting edge of national and international activity.

Such a treasure. The Chihuly glass is gorgeous. Additionally, PLAN TO EAT HERE. The cafe features an outstanding menu featuring local meats and produce in a lovely setting. The gift shop sells Chihuliy bowls.

If you like contemporary art or want to see what contemporary art entails, go to the Kemper. You'll enjoy the experience. There is a great restaurant - Cafe Sebastian and gift shop that are worth a visit in themselves.
