“Chaz - Top Notch Experience”

My significant other and two other couples stayed at the beautiful Raphael hotel to celebrate a couples weekend in KC in late November. We had the opportunity to have breakfast at the Chaz restaurant on two mornings and the experience was phenomenal. The customer service level starting with the host to our server was second to none. Plates were cleared almost immediately and the server kept her eye on our table and offered her assistance several times without being too intrusive. The food quality and selection was excellent. Each of us had a couple of different items and the overall consensus was that it was top notch. We all agreed that we would return to not only the hotel but also to the restaurant next time we visited KC. But even if we didn't stay at the hotel, we would definitely stop by the Chaz and dine in. We all highly recommend the Chaz restaurant for breakfast because of their great customer service tasty food.

“Great Cuisine for the price”

Great food and fantastic martini's. The beef carpaccio and the aged tenderloin were fantastic. Make sure you get it medium rare. The dining room is well lit and clean and the wait staff was courteous and efficient. Had a chance to meet the Food and Beverage Director and she is an absolute asset to your hotel. Keep up the good work, I will see you again for dinner.

“Another breakfast at the Chaz”

I was in KC for a weekend with my friend and we had breakfast here, even though we weren't staying at The Raphael. The French toast is delicious! This is one of my favorite spots in KC.

“Disappointing!”

This is the second time that my family and I (four) have eaten at the restaurant. Our first experience was two years ago on a similar visit to Kansas City for Thanksgiving. That meal was fair at best. Not what I expected and not up to the high praise that I had read about. Our last visit was this past Thanksgiving day for the holiday buffet. The entire experience was a disaster. Cold food,lack of people serving,running out of items and exceedingly long lines of patrons waiting to serve themselves at a table that was grossly too short to adequately accommodate the patrons.
The waiter tried valiantly but there was very little he could do about the overall situation. My wife who never complains startled me and told the waiter that it was just terrible and he acknowledged the problems. He felt so bad that he took it upon himself to charge us half of the regular price per person that day. We didn't even insinuate that he should do such a gesture.
The place is too small to accommodate a buffet. Limit it or just go to a Thanksgiving menu to order.
By the way it's not a good idea to have the meat station directly in front a front door entrance which is constantly letting in cold air.
Never again.

“22% Gratuity???”

Wonderful food and drinks! But the service was terrible. We had a large party, and they charged a 22% gratuity. I would have gladly paid that if my husband hadn't had to wait 15 minutes for his coffee (and the coffee cup was dirty!). We will not be going back.
