Jack Stack, in all of its locations, is the place to go for beauty, barbeque and their home made carrot cake. They serve a variety of wood smoked meat products. We had sliced port and baby back ribs. Both were outstanding. We love the cheesy corn and the cheesy potato casseroles, but the super star of the menu is their home made carrot cake. It is served hot with a warm icing dripping off of it. And we had some of their coffee with it. The coffee is really excellent, too. I don't think you can beat the choices they offer and the quality of their food.

Whenever in Kansas City, we have dinner at Jack Stack's, our favorite barbecue place. We love their sauce and the juicy mopped ribs, really good beans too. It is a place to get good barbecue with style and comfort. It's always busy so plan accordingly.

Maybe it's true that an authentic BBQ joint has no alcoholic beverages, serves food on paper or styrofoam, and so on. I don't know. And there are no doubt two or three beloved shacks, like Oklahoma Joe's, where you can get better barbecue in KC. But I don't mind paying extra sometimes for good service and the ability to have a Boulevard with some quality burnt ends. I'm a simple man that way.

Crowded, noisy and fun. Definitely worth the 20 minute wait. Onion rings the size of a small car. Food all at the right temperature. Ribs so hot you could barely hold them. Cole slaw very cold. Original sauce is perfect. Ribs had a little chew to them- not mushy and falling off the bone. That's how I think ribs should be. Lamb ribs a little salty but worth trying. Two of four in party celebrating bdays, & they brought two of the brownies on the house. Would be 4.5 stars if I could.

Even though Fiorella's Jack Stack is pricey, I have always gotten an excellent meal for the money paid.
