The KC fountains are beautiful and great way to spend a sunny spring day. There are areas in town where you can walk to several. I suggest packing a picnic lunch and a book to enjoy the many parks and locations around the city. Sadly, several of the hotels I have stayed at do not have maps of the local fountains, so I have had to stumble on to a majority of them. Please note, KC gets cold and many of the fountains are shut down for the winter.

A must see, the one on the plaza being the best in my opinion. Everywhere you go there is a fountain it seems in this city and they are great for pictures. I love that they add a little flare to the city.

January means cold - and ice! We were taken on a tour of some of the fountains and in almost all cases saw mainly the architecture of them, which was very impressive - the Childrens Fountain was really interesting. One large fountain though had had its water left running and it was like a scene from Antarctica! Water still bubbling away but it was -teen something Centigrade and the ice was everywhere. I would like to see them in the summer just to get a sense of the impact they make in their own space.

Go on a walking tour in the evening, romantic and Old-World feeling makes for a great after-dinner stroll. Lighting also creates lovely photos, looks like you've been to Europe when just strolled in KC.
