There really isn't much to see here. There is a machine you can use to make your own bow/rosette but apart from that it is really just Christmas decorations and Winston Churchill paintings. If you like knick knacks and greeting cards you will like it but you can certainly life without coming here.

Right in the center of Kansas City, MO, the Hallmark Visitors Center gives people a chance to see the history and some of the inner workings of the company. You can even see how certain cards are made and get some free keepsake items.

A great point of interest is seeing some of the Christmas ornaments that have been designed through the years by collection and by artist. Also, be sure to stop by the printer to watch the process of making Hallmark cards and take a look at what the cards what look like at various stages of printing. Just beyond that, you can see what cards look like for the holidays in various languages and for other countries.

It takes about 30 minutes to go through the entire center, and it is free of charge. Definitely worth your time if you're in the Kansas City area.

I wasn't sure what to expect when a friend brought me and my kids (two boys, ages 7 and 9) to this attraction. It was definitely a one-of-a-kind experience. Admission is free, so the price is tough to beat, and it is a great place to bring kids who love doing art projects and crafts. My boys aren't super "artsy," but they still had fun. We also got a complimentary kit with a canvas and paints -- I'm guessing it was overstock or outdated Hallmark product, but was still a really nice freebie!

Definitely worth visiting!

While the Hallmark Visitor's Center is not exactly the easiest thing to find in the Crown Center complex, it's absolutely worth the effort. The center offers unique collections of Hallmark ornaments, presidential holiday cards, and history of the company in relation to major historical events. The temporary exhibit of Winston Churchill art was a surprise and an incredible treasure. The movie is definitely worth seeing and can really tug at your heartstrings and bring out the best of the human spirit. The very kind gift given by the informative and friendly center staff was a great surprise. If you'd like to see some of the artists in action, you may want to call ahead to see what their schedule is for the day.
