What a great private museum. Fascinating contents of a steamboat that sunk on the Missouri with all its trade contents intact.

“Steamboat Arabia Museum and Film”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 22, 2012

This is in the City Market but we visited on a weekday so were able to park close. We would highly recommend this outstanding and most interesting museum. The story is fascinating and the exhibits were very interesting. It was erie to see the artifacts, some in perfect condition. God Bless the family who excavated the ship and the wonderful way they present the story. This is GREAT for young and old.

“Who knew?”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 19, 2012

Excellent museum run by the same people that excavated the ship from the mud. Fascinating process to find the ship and remove the treasures. There is a short film before entering most of the museum which talks about finding the ship and the excavation process. My understanding is that each showing is followed by a meet and greet with one of the original excavators! Very well done. Amazing process and cargo. Not to mention the restoration work on the artifacts. Well done! Worth the trip!

Go on Saturday especially in the spring-fall months because this is located right next to the city market, which is another GREAT place to visit

“Cool history lesson”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 11, 2012

This was not as "polished" a place as I would expect but understanding that this is a family that discovered the relic on their land, excavated, preserved and is presenting to the public I got pasted that. Fun to learn and see what they found and how this place came to even exist.
