This is a great museum. The artifacts on display give you a great glimpse into the life on the plains in the days when this boat sank in the river. You also see how they recovered and restored the artifacts. in my view, this is the best museum in Kansas City.

A little pricey but enjoyed this museum a lot. What was in it was very interesting and I learned a little history along the way.

Tucked into a corner of Kansas City, this museum is really one of the best we have ever seen. They seem to do everything right. Walking through it is like walking through an early American dry goods store. The staff is wonderful and helpful. The movie in the beginning will orient you to the amazing story of how these artifacts were found and preserved.

The story behind this discovery is fascinating - refrigerator repairmen becoming treasure-hunters. But when you see what they recovered you will truly be amazed!

This is one of those oddball midwestern museums, but weirdly enough it's very interesting - it's all about a sunken steamboat that was dredged from the river and restored, the whole family will enjoy, honest!
