We came for the March Kiss Crop N Shop event and stayed one night but was there the entire weekend. The room was very nice. The bed was very comfortable and the shower had hot water. We missed breakfast but it smelled wonderful when we finally got down. The meal the staff made on Saturday night smelled incredible and the dessert was delightful. The staff was very curteous and helpful. They offered to help me on several occasions. I recently had surgery so I wasn't able to get around as easily and they were very accomodating. I would come back time and time again.

We stayed at five different hotels from three different chains (Drury, Country Inn & Suites, La Quinta) during a short Spring Break trip and this hotel was by far the worst. The lobby appears to be OK, but the problems show up when you enter the side entrances to get to your room. The locks on the outer doors appeared to be beat up (one that I went through did not lock at all). Paint in the hallways was scuffed up and the carpets were worn. When we got to our room, the key appeared to unlock the door, but the door would not open. After discussing with the staff, they said that some of the door handles were installed upside down and we had to lift the handle UP to unlock the door. Well, that didn't work, either, but after some experiementation, we found that we had to pull the handle back BEFORE pulling it down and then the door would unlock.

The carpet in our room had a major stain and appeared quite worn. The bed was fine, but the bathroom was very small.

The icing on the cake was when we were awakened by our next door neighbor's dog that barked for over 1 hour starting around 7:15am. Apparently they decided to skip the hotel's complimentary breakfast (which we tried and thought was adequate) and left the dog in the room while they ate somewhere else, subjecting us to incessant barking.

I would not recommend this hotel for any purpose (business or pleasure) and at $89/nite is not a good value. If I visit Joplin sometime in the future, I will spend a little more to get a better, quieter room.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know that your experience wasn't what it should of been while staying with us. Myself and the La Quinta, Joplin staff look at every bit of feedback from our guests and when reviewing feedback that is negative we take a critical look at our systems and take corrective actions. After reviewing your comments we decided to bring in an additional supervisor to the Front Desk so that our hotel can remain pet friendly without disturbing other guests and to more immediately address problems . We are also correcting each of the frustrating elements that you experienced so that we can be the best stay possible for you and our other guests. Most people won't tell you if there was a problem with their stay; they will just leave and just choose somewhere else in the future. As grateful as we are for positve feedback we are equally grateful for constructive as well. We hope you will but If you don't choose us in the future we do hope that you will choose to stay in Joplin again as there are many fine Hotels from which to choose.

We stayed here with a group for wrestling and everyone was put together like we asked. The rooms were clean and the beds were soooo comfortable. The breakfast was more than enough especially for the price. The front desk workers were very polite and helpful. I will be staying here next time we are in Joplin!

For the price, this hotel is great. From the home made biscuits to the friendly front desk staff to the houskeeping staff. If there is a problem, let the front desk know about it and it will be resolved quickly.
I have found their internet connection is a bit sluggish. :(

We stayed here over the weekend for a basketball tournament our son was in. We made the reservation because we have had good experiences at La Quintas in the past. We were not disappointed. The hallways and common areas showed a little age and wear -n-tear; but our room was quite nice. When we first checked-in, the housekeepers were just starting to clean our room! We called the front desk and they promptly put us in another room. I can honestly say the bed was THE MOST COMFORTABLE hotel bed I have ever slept in! The sheets were soft and satiny, and the downy duvet set was amazing! Slept like a babe, despite the teens rough-housing around in the room just next to us. Staff was very friendly. Could have done a better job refilling breakfast items, but I think they were a bit overwhelmed with all the teens coming down at once and cleaning them out. Selection was good, and it was free! Excellent value.

Warm greetings as you enter. Friendly and helpful front staff. Winter storm was approaching so staff recommended we arrange accommodations for longer stay just in case of roads closures which we agreed to. Room was large, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was unusually large. Scrambled eggs, sausage, toast, variety of hot and cold cereals, coffee and juices. The cook was out greeting guest in the very large eating area. Nice touch. Hotel is close enough to Hwy 40 but far enough not to hear the traffic. Outside lighting poor. Must be on the lookout for the green La Quinta sign. Other hotels displayed their sign much easier. Overall stay was pleasant. It wasn’t until we got our bill. We decided to check out early the next day to beat the storm. As my husband was getting our truck out of the snow I was checking out reminding receptionist to cancel the rest of the days. My mind was focused on the drive and our safety when I placed my check out sheet into my travel folder. It wasn’t until we arrived to our destination did we review our bill. They charged us for all the days. When we called Quality they said they couldn’t do anything until the office manager arrived…the next day. We called the next day although the manager still wasn’t available. After further inspection of our bill we noticed they mixed up the bill entirely charging us as another guest. When we called the 3rd time, manager still not in, we told them of the name on the bill. They put us on hold, then came back and said the manager just took care of the problem. I don’t fault them for mistakes, it was the run around that disappointed us. Will we stay with Quality again, only if we can’t find anything else. The hassle isn’t worth it. Hard working staff members too bad poor management skills bring La Quinta down.
