“Average BBQ, convenient downtown location”

Convenient location if you are in downtown Joplin. The decor was nicely done and I especially liked the Ball jar light fixtures. I was there for lunch and had an order of deep-fried pickles and the Barnyard sandwich with fries special. The pickles were okay, but the batter was "doughy." The BBQ meats and sauces lacked any outstanding qualities. The sandwich had a mix of "all the meats from the barnyard" and it was challenging to distinguish each type. Service was a bit off; the place was packed with the lunch crowd. Overall, it's worth a try, but not worth the wait if it's busy.

The pulled pork sandwich is very good and the sides also. It is smoke free, except for the smoke smell coming from the meat outside that will grab your attention right away.

I am giving this a 3 though some of the food could have rated lower. Let's start with the bad: the potato salad was bland and the cole slaw was okay. The fries were okay but tasted like they had been cooked in old oil. Son had chicken strips and the breading kept falling off (not cooked at right temp maybe??). Beer selection was fair and service was fairly fast. Restaurant itself is a nice atmosphere. Now the good part of the trip. The ribs were very meaty and the sauce was tasty. The only negative on the ribs are that they were way too salty and we like salt and a good rub on the ribs. It was just too overdone with the saltiness. Thankful the sauce was good as it helped drown out the saltiness. But the ribs were cooked perfectly, juicy, and meaty.

I had the pulled pork and it was moist and tender...the place really has some atmosphere..and looked like it had a nice little bar to boot..the cole slaw kinda had a twang to it.. but the fries were real good kinda spicy and a little bit different from the norm..the mild sauce was tasty the other sauces tasted bout the same with some hot sauce added

The food here is great! Plus, the portions are large and generous. I would recommend the burnt ends, the rack of ribs, and the hillbilly philly sandwich. Make sure to try the jalapeno mac and cheese.

Nice place to go eat with reasonable prices
