Wildcat park is a nice park with a trail to walk or ride your bike through. You walk through the woods, enjoy the water, or waterfalls down the stream or walk up on the large rocks that surround parts of the trail. I must say the audobon center is a large dissapointment. It is not open regularly like it should be, and it is not well kept. I feel if someone took care of it, it would be a great place for families to go and children to learn, but its not. Park and trail are nice, audobon center gets an F

A great nature 'living lab' with thousands of plants, critters, and natural resources to see, study, touch, and photograph. A fun experiences for adults and kids.

If you appreciate nature and all it has to offer, this will be a good place for you to visit. The staff is very pleasant and helpful and there is actually quite a bit to see right in the visitor center. I enjoyed seeing the various grasses, trees, plants, and shrubs between the parking lot and the visitors center.

My 4 and 1.5 year old daughters love this place. Lots of hands on stuff in the building and a fun place to go walking and enjoy nature!

The Wildcat Glades Center has a MUCH better visitor's facility. It's actually quite awesome. There are great exhibits, but even more cool is the design of the building itself. It was designed to be eco-friendly and there are plaques all around explaining why and how it works. For example, the building is cooled and heated by geo-thermal technology. Also, natural grasses and plants are on the ceiling to keep building cooler rather than using traditional roof shingles. Then there are the trails. They're ok... good place to go and walk in the evening, but sometimes the paths are too narrow with the overgrowth on the sides. Also there are lots of private residences backed up into the park part, which kind of ruins the experience in small ways. Otherwise, a neat nature place for Joplin!
