When to the nearest park to let my son let off some energy on a long trip and what a wonderful surprise. He love building that had a large fish tank, big mussel shell and frog of kid to climb on and reptile. Lovely walking trials and easy parking. I will have to remember this one!

This is an outstanding place. It's free and although the interior exhibits are minimal, the walking trails are super. We were able to walk through spring time woodlands, along side Shoal Creek, and experience the wonders of nature firsthand. Very cool location!

Wildcat Glades is tucked into a spot near I-44 in Joplin, MO. The building houses excellent displays including aquariums and some live animals, and great windows for wildlife viewing. Trails wander through the chert glades and along Shoal Creek. Staff are friendly and helpful, the facility is clean and inviting, and the grounds are lovely. Price: free. You can't beat that!

A great place to get to know natural treasures of the Joplin area! The Center provides an easy and accessible nature experience for both residents and those just passing through the area. The interior displays give a snapshot of habitats showcased by the park and provide hands-on diversions to captivate kids of all ages. The energy-efficient building is full of interesting green-technologies to discover, and if you have time to take a walk, the globally unique chert glade the park protects and celebrates is just outside the back door. Birdwatchers will want to linger near large windows overlooking a lovely bird feeding area. There is no excuse for not discovering this local gem!

The Center is a great place for anyone and everyone in the family. There is something to suit anyones interest in outdoor education and exploration. If you haven't been there, stop by and see for yourself. It is hard to believe that so many people from Joplin have never been to the Center to enjoy the attmosphere and beautiful surroundings.
The park used to be known for some unsavory activities, but it has changed and all for the better. Don't miss out on one of Joplin's great attractions.
