We lived in Missouri all our lives, but until reading a reference to Jamesport, MO, we had never been there. Made a day trip last Friday to see what was there. After a visit to the store "A Natural Difference", on their recommendation we had lunch at Gingerich's.

It was like a trip back to Grandma's house. They have a buffet for lunch, which should be your choice. Excellent pan fried chicken. The crust was crunchy and not greasy, the meat was not overdone and very moist. Green beans, corn mash potatoes and white gravy. Even dessert included.

This is a must if your going to Jamesport.

I've eaten here twice now and enjoyed it each time. The service is always very friendly and efficient. The buffet is small, but ample. I enjoy their fried chicken which is juicy and tender but not too greasy. It has a nice crunchy breading and is very tasty. The other food selections seem to change but our lunch included the fried chicken, meatloaf, and beef and noodles along with a good selection of potatoes and other vegetables, along with a salad bar. The value is excellent, the service good and the food is delicious. I didn't save room for pie but have heard it's excellent. Will definitely visit here again.

Restaurant choices in Jamesport are very limited. Service was friendly and attentive. Inexpensive buffet with limited offerings (fried chicken, ham, roast turkey), but the fried chicken is almost as good as Grandma made.

We came here for dinner and enjoyed the food. The employee told me they were packed solid for lunch (holiday weekend) and I could tell the employees had a long day but were still friendly.

The food was buffet style (see photo). All the food was very good. However, the mashed potatoes were a little bit disappointing as they tasted like a blend of homemade & boxed instant potatoes. It made me wonder if they had ran out of homemade mashed potatoes at lunch and this was a substitute?

The buffet was not huge but had a great selection of delicious food. Fried chicken, turkey, delicious ham, mashed potatoes, amazing gravy, corn, green beans, beef noodles. The salad bar had fresh salad, local kale, yummy potato salad, delicious coleslaw, an awesome broccoli salad, wonderful orange fluff jello salad and other usual salad bar vegetables.

There was also sliced bread but it was rather dry from being out of the wrapper in a basket and several jars of empty jam - the only one not empty was the apple butter & it was good.

The dessert bar had ice cream, lemon bars, or chocolate fudge bars. Both bars lacked flavor - they were very, very mild. A slice of pie was $3 extra, which we did not get since I wasn't too impressed with their bars and wasn't sure if their pies would be much better.

Overall we found the food here delicious and are glad we ate here. The buffet was $11 per person.

The Gingerich Dutch Pantry was a wonderful step back in time! We walked in to a very quaint little restaurant and the aroma of fresh baked breads filled the air. As we were seated, our server immediately asked us what we would like to drink and then asked if we would like to order from the menu or have their home-cooked lunch buffet. We chose the buffet, and we were not disappointed. The fried chicken was the best, along with "real" mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, corn, pulled pork, fresh salad fixings, homemade vegetable soup, and even a dessert bar with ice cream and toppings, homemade custard, and brownies. What a gem this was in this wonderful small town!
