We went to ZooDoo on Wednesday 2/10/2013, travelling down from Launceston with a mission: to have an interaction with the white lion cubs. Anyone local reading this would remember how horrific that day was weather wise, it was horrendous! Needless to say, the cubs enclosure was flooded, and it looked like we might have missed out with our cub encounter as the cubs were moved to dryer & higher ground. But the wonderful staff, realizing we had traveled to the Zoo just for the day, made a comfortable and dry environment for both cubs and admiring humans, and we had a 'once in a lifetime' experience that neither of us will ever forget! The staff were very apologetic for circumstances beyond their control, they made us a coffee whilst we waited for a alternative arrangements to be made. We will be making more trips to visit the Zoo, and very happily telling all our friends and family to do so as well.

I didn't know about this place until someone told me about it. Not many attractions in Tasmania are advertised all that well.
Anyway, this place is quite good. It's about 45 minutes out of Hobart. There is A good assortment of Australian animals, as well as some exotic, such as white lions and a tiger. Currently there are white lion cubs to be seen and a Tasmanian Devil has also given birth. You get very up close add personal witI the animals and at 11.00 you get the chance to feed the lions.
Its very much a petting zoo and hands on. If you have children they will love it, but even if you don't, you will still enjoy it.

We have three children 4, 8 and 11. They just loved their day at Zoodoo. We saw heaps of very well cared for, clean animals. There was a lovely little petting zoo and gorgeous little white lion cubs ... Which you could get very close to and watch them being fed, which was a real highlight. The staff were great and our children were very satisfied with how much they got to see of the much anticipated Tassie Devils ... Well worth the money. I would highly recommend this trip. I would, however, recommend the zoo consider a non smoking policy in the eating area or near families.

If you are in Tasmania with children, you must not leave without visiting this zoo. The entry fee includes a safari bus where you can feed various animals, opportunities to feed the lions and be in close contact with large reptiles. The children may also feed wallabies, chicken and deers. We were lucky to be able to get close to newly born white lion cubs. Very cute and cuddly.

You may want to pack your lunch as there isn't much on offer in the small tuck shop.

We had a great time at Zoodoo. The staff were friendly and willing to answer all our questions about the animals. The animals were well cared for and happy. We would recommend this as a great day out for families young and old.
