My boyfriend and I stayed here by chance as we found from wandering through the back streets of Huanchaco. We found the hostel more like a hotel. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. We had good wifi and a television in our room. The showers were hot however the only thing that could have been improved was the water pressure, but it was ok.
We had stayed in other places in Huanchaco on the main street and were looking for something quieter and thats what we found here. Its only a few blocks from the beach and was no problem to walk to the surf.
Wankko was all round great value. All the staff were lovely, they had to buzz you in through the gate at the front each time we returned to the hostel, hence security was high. We were originally going to stay 1 night but ended up spending almost 2 weeks there.
The nice man on reception also let us have a late checkout, a very late checkout (as we were catching a night bus to Lima) for no extra cost.
We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you to everyone at Wankko. I would definitely recommend this accommodation
