Lovely stylish hotel away from the hustle & bustle but still close to the beach & restaurants. Great food & facilities. Very relaxing place to chill out after a dusty day at the local amazing archaeological sites. The owner very kindly allowed us to check our at 9pm on our last day as we had a very late flight that night from Trujillo. We didn't want to leave!

After arriving by taxi from the airport me and my girlfriend needed a place to stay for the night, we asked the taxi driver and he recommended the Hotel Bracamonte. So we decided to give it a try. The woman at front desk (Rosaria?) was extremely nice and friendly, she showed us a few rooms until we decided upon one which we liked (had the best views) The room had cable TV, hot water, and most important was very clean. I also recommend the restaurant for breakfast in the morning, had a delicious triple sandwich

This is a really nice place right across the street from the beach. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, the rooms are not luxurious but clean and large. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the pool is sparkling clean. There is a small restaurant on the property which serves perfectly adequate meals too. We stayed for 3 nights and while the first night was wonderful and quiet, the second and third nights were ruined by a huge and rowdy group of 78 (!) teenagers from Lima on a school trip. The kids ran wild throughout the property late into the night and early again the next morning, and took up the entire restaurant. The management didn't do anything to control them (nor did their chaperones). So, ask if there will be big groups staying while you are there. If not - it's an excellent, relaxing place.

Nice hotel about 1km before Huanchaco town centre. Just off the main street from Trujillo and about 100m from the beach.
The rooms are clean and very quiet. The shower was hot but the water pressure wasn't great.
A tasty breakfast is included, choose from 4 different options like fruit salad or scrambled eggs with juice and coffee and tea. Service is very friendly.
The best price I got a the hotel was 135 soles for a double room however I had enquired by email earlier and was quoted 115 soles so they agreed to meet the lower price.
I stayed here for three nights and used it as a base to explore colonial Trujillo (bus 1,50 soles 30mins) and Chan Chan as well as the Huacas de la luna and de sol.

We stayed at the Bracamonte in January 2012 for 14 nights wheile we were visiting our family at the other end of town (Sabes Bar). This is not a backpackers hostel but a nice hotel.

We managed to get the matrimonial suite for all but two nights - which was very good. The room had a very comfortable Queen sized bed, TV (we didn't watch!), fridge, a sofa and comfy chair. The bathroom had a massive double bath with shower over the top.

Outside we had a table with 4 solid chairs on the balcony.

The hotel staff are friendly and helpful even if speaking broken Spanish to them. The included breakfasts became a little monotonous after a week or so but there were plenty of other options if we wanted to pay extra.

The swimming pool was never busy and it was a reasonable temperature. The grounds are kept very well.

Room Tip: Go for the Matrimonial Suite if it's available. But the other executive suites are very good too...

This is a very nice beach hotel on the southern part of Huanchaco. The restaurant is fine and the rooms are well maintained. There is a pool in the middle of the complex which is great for kids who are tired of the freezing cold ocean. The best part about this hotel are the staff. They are very attentive and helpful. There is a concierge of sorts who is very knowledgeable about the area and very eager to help plan activities. This is not a great place to stay for single travelers or those looking to hang out with hipsters. The guests were primarily Peruvian families and we did not see any solo travelers.

Room Tip: There is a less expensive room with 2 bunk beds and a queen size bed. There are not bathrooms insid...

We stayed a week here with my parents and my two young kids and really enjoyed our stay. We tried the restaurants along the front but towards the end of the week just ended up eating in the hotel restaurant as it was just as good as anywhere else really, and good value. The breakfasts, once you got used to the idea of eating exactly what your set option was, were really good.

I would agree with the last opinion that if you had a room right by the pool you might be disappointed, but the executive rooms just off the pool area, although noisy until 10pm, were convenient for us with kids and really well-appointed and finished, comfortable, spacious, good storage space and bathrooms. My mum said some mornings more the showers were warm rather than hot but after lunch they were always very hot. I think that the executive rooms are probably better value and worth paying a bit extra for if you can afford it. I read previous opinions and asked for quiet rooms and hoped for one at the back of the complex but didnt get it. The noise was a little bothersome at night, once I had to shut the pool room and most nights I slept with earplugs but maybe I am very sensitive to noise as where I live it is so quiet!

You dont really need a tour to visit the sites here, you can do it in a taxi if you speak enough spanish to negotiate the cost of a taxi. Huaca de la Luna is excellente, with a really good new museumb and the guided tour of the site with student guides is obligatory. We also enjoyed Chan Chan and got a good guide on the door.
