Patricia, Stefanie, Barbara, Manuel and Neil: your family away from home.
Great rooms, hot water, reliable internet, shared patio with hammocks, delicious and cheap home made breakfast and lunch, warm, friendly and helpful owners. Perfect for people who want to volunteer or surf in Huanchaco.
HIGHLY recommended

We walked in to Mc Callum and the owner Manuel and his son Neil welcomed us and let us choose our room.
We had a nice corner room, but something to hang up our clothes was missing. I told them and 20 minutes later a clothes rack was hanging on our wall.
Manuel and Patricia, and their grown up kids just did everything to make us feel comfortable. They were absolutely beautiful.
The other travelers in the hostel were great too, it really felt like a big family.
The rooms are nice and clean and comfortable.
They also cook good lunches for 5 soles. We ended up staying for two weeks and would definitely go back.

The lodge was in a great location, close to the beach, local shops and local transport. We originally only planned on staying a few nights and ended up staying ten days. The McCallum family that run the lodge were exceptional hosts. Any requests that we had, they were more than happy to facilitate. For an additional $2 (Aust) the Peruvian lunch that was offered was fresh and plentiful. The luxury of chilling out in the hammocks in the courtyard and having an afternoon siesta is proof that you are having a relaxing time here. They also offer a laundry service that is good value for money. The free WIFI is fast and reliable. We could not have wished for a more chilled place to relax in Huanchaco.

I stayed at this hostel for 20 days and i really would recommend this place to anyone going to huanchaco. Its got a great atmosphere. We became like one big family there, it draws in amazing people. The family running it are lovely, you can eat lunch there for 5 soles and its traditional meals.. shes a great cook. the food was amazing. They were so helpful and caring. Beware that if you are going to huanchaco, do not limit the amount of time your planning to spend there. You will stay for longer. Huanchaco life is really one to get used to especially with all the great people in the area.

This is a great hostel and one I would reccommend to everybody. It is so chilled that I came for 3 days and stayed 13. I then went on a short trip and returned for a further 10 days. The people are so nice and will help you with all your difficulties, trip plans, buses, taxis whatever.

Room Tip: Try not to get the room beside the kitchen

Hola!
We met 2 friends in Hauaraz who sugested us to go to the Mc.Callum hostel.
when we arrived to the main hostel the owner directed us to his secondery dauther place 1 minute by foot from there.
We arrived a very nice, new place (openes less than one month ago). The family is so so warm and helped us with everything!!!! they even helped us to cook local fish.

there was serious problem with the water but it is a new place I'm sure they will fix it in the near future (check the hot water before you're signning in).

We realy recommend this place!
Lovely people!!!!
Enjoy!!!!!!!! (also ask for surfing lessons deal)

a great place to relax in the hammocks, at the picnic tables, or on the couch in the kitchen, and socialize. they offer breakfast and lunch at a good price each day, or you can use the kitchen and cook for yourself. they are close to the beach and the main street, stores, bus stop, etc.there is always hot water in the showers. the staff are very helpful and friendly and they keep the place in good shape. also they have a laundry service which comes in handy. its fun to meet people here. it can get a little loud at night, becasue the hostel is set up around a courtyard, it tends to echo and so if people are up very late, you will hear it. other than that, its a great place to stay.
