on our way to the port, to visit the our cargo loading material, we stoped at the museum , recomended by the superintendent of the port, and he was right, if you are in Paracas, you have to visit the museum.

the museum is like the city: a tourist trap, not very interesting, too expensive for what it is. don't bother with going in this city

I like history and museums. This museum did provide geologic history of the area that I'd never considered. Enjoyed my visit.

A small museum with very detailed history and artifacts. Most of the descriptions are in Spanish with some information about artifacts given in English. They have pottery, weapons, and human bones on display. Evidently some of the textiles have been stolen in the past and there are interpole alerts on on some items.

This is a very small, privately owner museum. The owner will show you round (in Spanish but easy to understand, even if you don't speak a word). There are textiles that are nearly 2000 years old. All still brightly coloured. There are elongated skulls with skull piercings, a mummy head still with skin and hair and some beautiful examples not only from Paracas but later cultures. This is nothing like a regular museum. More like a special showing of a private collection.

It is in the main street opposite the little plaza, ignore if any guides say there is no museum in the town. This is a must see.
