“Quiet place to sleep in Paracas”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2012

This is still very close to everything as Paracas is a small town, but it is a little bit farther away from the roosters that start crowing in the middle of the night and don't stop. The water was hot, the room was clean, and the bed was relatively comfortable. WiFi worked well for us and the owners were very friendly.

This hotel is very well located in Paracas. It's really near the pier which is great if you catch the early bus from Lima at 3.45am you can easily be on one of the boats there by 8am. The owner co-ordinated a trip to the Islas de Ballestas & Parc Nacional de Paracas by email. It's clean and the beds are very comfortable. There are lots of places around the hotel to book trips all over the area, including flights over the Nasca lines.

We liked the Bahia, colorful and clean room with view on the Ocean and wonderful breakfast served with a stunning view.
Internet (a bit slow) available in the lobby and really nice owner. Definitely recommended!

Paracas is so small that location is always good. There are some roosters on the street which start to scream early every morning.

Rooms are clean and big enough. The staff will clean them every day. There are rooms with ocean view - although when we stayed there, there was a construction yard just next to the hostel.

Breakfast is served in the balcony on the 4th floor. It contains bread, coffee and juice. We stayed there two nights but the staff didn't tell us that the breakfast is included to the price until the last day.

Hostal staff can't speak English but they are neutral and try to help you if you just ask them to. We didn't have any real contact with them except the check-in and check-out.

Hostal claims to have a wifi but it really is a 3G network which isn't working at all. When we stayed here it was impossible to use the wifi at all.

The biggest problem in our opinion is the fact that this place has made a deal with scammers. When we booked the room they asked what bus company we are using and what time we are arriving even they don't offer any pickup service.

On the station there was a guy waiting for ask and saying that we have to follow him - claiming that he was working for the hostel. After we got the room and gave passports for copying, this guy tried to sell us tours with double price. We didn't buy anything from him and and when we meet him again in few hours he dropped the price 20 soles (still overpriced!) and said that there are only three places left on the boat.

Don't believe any of these street sellers. Every company in the town offers tours and it doesn't really matter where you buy them. You use the same boats, busses and guides every time. They will get more space if there are more customers. The prices for full day trip are around 60 soles. If you take only the morning trip to the isles or the afternoon trip to protected area, those are around 35-40 soles.

In our opinion the full day trip is worth taking. Remember to take your own lunch if you don't want to pay overpriced lunch in the restaurant.

We stayed here for 1 night in October and found it clean with helpful staff. Lovely breakfast with a good view over the bay from the dining room. We were met at the bus station and taken the 5 minutes down the road, but the hostal is easy to find on your own. Luggage storage facility and at 100 soles a night very good value for money. We were able to arrange our trips from here also and although the town has a sleepy feel, there were plenty of little restaurants to grab a meal at the end of the day. A visit to the islands is a must.

Room Tip: We would go for the same as others, 2nd floor on the ocean side.

Stayed here in december for our Ballestas Islands trip and got a really good deal here. Only 90 soles for a clean room with private bathroom.

The Hostal is just a short walk to bus station ( you can walk even with luggage) and another short walk to the port to Ballestas islands and all restaurants there.
Rooms are clean and well presented even if sober and spartan.
Bathroom has hot water but not fancy precisely.
Staff is helpful and the prices of excursions offered are quite similar to those you can get shopping around.
The "average" is just because the price We payed is a little high for a Hostal (foreigners price is double than payed by locals and something in the middle would be more fair). Sound isolation is also weak and earplugs are commendable.
