My wife and I stayed at Casa de la Sirena for a week in July (off season). The place itself was cute, clean, and right on the beach. The main intersection of town was less than a 10 minute walk away, so all the restaurants and shops are nearby. The staff, especially Humberto and Maria, were very attentive and friendly.

The place was very relaxing for walking on the beach or lounging by the pool. Our mini villa had an open living room that was also comfortable with the fans on. It was July, so it was pretty humid and hot, but still nice enough to sit outside.

If you plan on surfing, playa troncones is a good beach break but fairly rocky. You can walk either left or right from Casa de la Sirena about 5 minutes to some less rocky spots. Otherwise, you need a car to get to the more famous point and river breaks just north of Troncones.

There are two cute and friendly cats, Tasha and Casper, on the property too. Lots of friendly dogs, chickens, and horses in the town as well!

Communicating and reserving the place with the owner, Debbie, was easy via email. Though, I would suggest that they figure out a way to pay by credit card or maybe paypal. Otherwise it was easy enough to snail mail a check to her.

We stayed at Casa de la Sirena 8 years ago, and came back for 5 nights this month. We remembered it was beautiful, but the grounds are truly breathtaking! We stayed in a Mini Villa, and had the most amazing view of the ocean. We loved having a kitchen, so we could cook meals as we wished. We had so much space to relax, and everything was so clean. The staff was great: Humberto was our main point of contact while we were there and he was so friendly and accommodating! He felt like family. The pool is awesome- and we loved the swim up bar! We are officially in love with Casa de la Sirena, and the little village of Troncones. We can't wait to go back!!!!

We were lucky enough to spend a week at this special property. We just cannot stop telling our friends & family what a fantastic spot we found. Mike, Debbie, Humberto, Jose, Maria, I'm sure I'm forgetting someone, were so easy & gracious. Walking the beach at sunset was spectacular. Walking to town for a bite to eat was so easy & comfortable. This is just a dreamy little beach town. Thank you so very much for making this one of the best vacations ever!

We were fortunate to have found this gem eight years ago and have been coming back annually ever since. Everything about this place is top notch! We have stayed in every different type of accommodation on this property and all are amazing. Mike, Debbie and all their staff are gracious hosts who truly want to ensure you have the best vacation possible. If you enjoy relaxing by the pool with a good read and listening to the sound of the surf, then this is the place for you! The rooms are clean, beautifully decorated and well maintained. The gardens separating the minivillas, bungalows and private villa are gorgeous and include a yoga platform. When you get hungry, you needn't walk far to find really good food or if you're so inclined you can purchase fruits, veggies and seafood right in front and prepare it in your own kitchen. Come to Sirena for complete relaxation and rejuvenation, you will not be disappointed!

The first time we walked in, we thought we'd died and gone to heaven! We've stay at La Sirena 3 times now. Twice in a mini villa and once in a bungalow. We prefer the villas only because of the king size bed. This is a beautiful property with beautiful people. Humberto goes above & beyond to make your stay spectacular! The grounds are impeccable and housekeeping is on top of everything. The mini villas face the pool & ocean and the bungalows are a little further back on the property, near the street. The fish truck and the fruit/veggie truck stop by a few times a week, make sure to indicate you want them to stop by placing the card on the entrance door. La Sirena is located just a block or two from anything you could possibly need . . . small grocery stores, liquor stores, a coffee shop, a few knick knack stores and every restaurant in town. If you get the opportunity, do not pass up a chance to stay here!

Room tip: Every room here is heaven.
