Punta el Corral is a great little house perfect for a couple. We spent 2 weeks there and had an amazing time.
Troncones is now our favorite place in Mexico. We were there Christmas week and we still could walk for miles on the beach and see very few people. The best part was our tidal pool, 1 minutes to the left of the house, where we sat in the water for a long periods of time watching the waves and the pelicans. We floated there for sometimes an hour without seeing anyone walking by.
The location is ideal. You are about 1/2 hour walk to Troncones on a gorgeous beach or you can take a little mini-bus for 10 pesos/person (less than a dollar). You just stand on the road and flag the little bus down; they seem to run every 10-15 minutes. You are also about 20 minutes in the other direction to a charming town called Majahua (pronounced Mahawa). We had our best meal there in a restaurant called Dona Marta. The restaurants in Troncones were also great. Great foodie place. Wine selection is limited but surprisingly good for such a small town.
A 5 minute walk (or less) there is the Manzanilla Bay Hotel, they have great food and a great patio.
We ate mostly at the villa, Tina - the caretaker went shopping for us before our arrival and stocked the fridge with enough food for almost a week. For US 20$, it was a great service.
The gardener is a kind soul, always willing to help. He is at the property 6 days/week and feeds the 3 resident cats - Shadow, Cooper, and the shy one. We spent most of our time trying to befriend them but they were quite shy. In the last few days we started to feed them some yummy things like atun and leche. Sorry Trish if we spoiled the cats.
We felt very safe. The accommodations were very nice and we would absolutely come back.
We liked Troncones so much that we are looking for real estate here. We spent a few days looking at real estate with Dewey - look him up, he's great!
Thanks everyone for making our vacation wonderful.
