We very much enjoyed our time at this hotel. The grounds were very peaceful, and it was a very relaxing and wonderful place to stay. The room was comfortable and the beach was just lovely. The only complaint we had, and this isn't really a complaint, is that we didn't know that only one restaurant would be open (it was low, low season) and food was sort of a pain to come by. We didn't know that we should bring food in to the hotel. Hence, if I were to go back, which I would definitely consider, I would make sure to stop at the grocery store on the way from the airport. Also, Hans and Angie weren't there -- which was a little disappointing since all the other reviews had such wonderful comments on their hospitality.
All and all, our time at the hotel was extremely relaxing and great.

My girlfriend took me to La Posada de los Raqueros for my first trip to Mexico. I could not have dreamed of a better experience. Hans, Angie, Toofi and Marimba are so welcoming; the place felt like a friends beach house more than a hotel. If you need to get away, the lounge chairs on the beach are awesome for long naps or finishing a few books. The beach is super fun, warm with great surf and body-surf waves. There is also some more advanced surf down the road. Troncones was a great taste of urban Mexico. We were there during a marlin fishing tournament. I jumped in and helped the locals carry huge marlins off the boats! All in all, it was an amazing trip. I suggest renting a small car to get around. And keep an eye out for the giant toads that come out at night.

I and three good friends recently spent 5 nights at Raqueros, in the private house, Sol y Mar. It was a wonderful place to stay in a fantastic location. Raqueros is located literally right in front of the main surf break at Troncones point, so we spent our time surfing, relaxing under their palapas watching the surf, fixing great meals in the home's kitchen and using the large barbeque, and making sure to fit in time for siestas. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful and the place was very comfortable. It is a quiet. beautiful, relaxing place. We look forward to our return.

My husband and I often talk about saving money to buy property in Mexico or Costa Rica and our visit to Raqueros showed us how good that dream is when done right. Hans and Angie have built a beautiful place in Troncones. The best compliment that I can give it is that it fits in perfectly with the surroundings, it doesn't overpower them. It's not a large walled retreat like the place being built next door and it's not pretentious like some of the places in Troncones. It's simple, rustic, peaceful, and beautiful.

I would highly recommend this place for independent travelers looking to enjoy the ocean, take walks on the beach, indulge in siestas in the hammock, and enjoy great food and margaritas at beachfront restaurants.

Tony and his family are wonderful hosts when Hans and Angie aren't in Mexico and, as others have mentioned before, the casitas two dogs are much fun to have around!

This was better than we could have ever imagined. Hans and Angie were delightful, the property is beautiful, and this was the perfect place for our honeymoon. When we needed a car, they called and had one delivered to us, gave us all the privacy we wanted, yet we really loved our ritual sunset margaritas with them and dogs. We feel like we have a home in Mexico that we look forward to returning to as much as we possibly can in the years to come, complete with dogs and friends.

We spent 12 days at Raqueros. When we arrived, we fell into the most beautiful dream and did not wake for the entire visit. The most gorgeous property, sunsets on the 50-yard line, simple pleasures and tranquility. We found good eggs in Hans and Angie – they are the ultimate hosts – conservationalists – friends. Who would have thought the best margarita is from a Dutch recipe! Plus two of the most lovely, spirited dogs I have ever met: the ultimate beach bums. It was the most restful relaxation of my life. I have been home for one week and still feel easy and nice. The is the lesson I learned at Raqueros: keep it easy and nice. My new way of life.

We have the oportunity of staying at Raqueros in troncones, the place was like a dream, clean and rustik with the real feeling of relaxation wich was what we where looking for.
Hans and his 2 dogs keep us company every afternoon at the magnificent sunset and the dogs follow us like 2 royal guards for our afternoon walks along the beach.
The room was comfortable and clean and sometimes we got the feeling like we where in our own beach house in Mexico.
Troncones is the perfect place to relax since there are not shoopings centers or night life but insteed you can seat in a palapa restaurante and eat the catch of the day.
It is not a tipical mexican beach but a great beach!
